So my sims can fish in the water, but whenever I ask them to wade, collect water, or look for frogs they complain about not being able to reach it. I've tried having different heights to make it easier to reach and I can't seem to get it to work. There's a fishing spot on the map that I can collet water at just fine, just not the pond on my lot... This is my second save file and it worked just fine before, so I'm a little confused. Does anyone have any tips?

The edges of mine are rough too, I’m not great with the terrain tools so I think you’re probably ok there too.

There is one premade pond maxis made and it has ducks in it that you can't interact with.

I can't fish with bait on my pond either, it offers a screen with Choose Your Best Bait' but all the choices are greyed out so if I can't choose I can't fish with bait. I can fish without bait no worries, meaning the decor in the pond has nothing to do with the fishing, I doubt the sim/script even knows it's there as its only effects.

To be fair I was trying to use a really really small pond. I also had to move the fishing sign around (ended up close to the middle) before fishing would work. As @catloverplayer said, it seems even a premade pond has this issue. There are other reports of issues with the ducks, so they may just be glitchy or something. On the two lots I’ve built with ponds only one seemed to have a problem.

I am having trouble adding fish to my pond. I click on the sign to add fish, then click to Manage pond and no fish are added. Sounds like it might be too many objects. Will try with MOO off and plain pond and see if I can do it. With that being said, are there any other requirements for adding fish to ponds that I may not be aware of? Do they need fishing skill, knowledge of the fish or anything like that?

You can only add fish your Sim has discovered, so caught it seems. There are two signs in build mode, one to add your own fish, and one prestocked with fish.

Thank you @Kita5399! I will try to have him catch some and discuss fishing with the locals! They need to add a tool tip for that so players know what is going on LOL. Thank you again!

I only knew that from watching the livestream, I agree tool tips or something would be really helpful.

Yup, that's a teeny tiny pond to place ducks on. The grid needed for the ducks is the same size, if not bigger, than the pond they were placed on... the dev team really didn't think that one through. You can't fish or look for frogs or splash around if there's no empty grid area in the pond that isn't filled up with vfx items.

It's a nice looking pond with the plants/ducks etc, but it's also a prime example of what NOT to do if you want to make a pond that you can actually interact with.
