Neighborhood Stories Death Notifications: Let's Find Them!

Hi! Here again to make a discussion of finding fun things together!

This time: death notifications when you check what has happened from the mailbox.

From the announcement post, we have this:

was milking it and got too close to a cowplant.


While this discussion goes on, I'll update this post with more notifications we get. It's fun to see what text is written there.
All the collected notifications are under the spoilers.
Base Game:
Starvation:
Currently not possible.

Fire:
  • tried to make cereal but it burst into flames.
  • tried fixing the toilet and it randomly burst into flames.

Drowning:
  • should have taken swimming classes.
  • went to sleep with the fishes.

Electrocution:
  • Shockingly, botched a repair and was electrocuted.
  • stuck a finger in a plug and eletricity came out.

Overexertion:
  • might have loved too much for his/her/their age.
  • exercised too much for his/her/their age.

Cowplant:
  • was milking it and got too close to a cowplant.
  • fell for a cowplant's cake bait. He/She/They could not have his/her/their cake and eat it too.

Laughter:
  • heard a dad joke and laughed a little too hard.
  • had his/her/their last laugh.

Anger:
  • got a little too angry and exploded.
  • was so angry he/she/they burst into flames and died.

Embarrassment:
  • blushed so much he/she/they exploded.
  • experienced more embarrassment than any Sim can handle.

Meteorite:
Currently not possible.

Spa Day gp:
Steam:
Currently not possible.

City Living ep:
Pufferfish:

Vampires gp:
Sunlight:
  • forgot he/she/they shouldn't go under the sun.
  • tried to get a tan and is now ashes.

Jungle Adventure gp:

Seasons ep:
Freezing:
  • let it go and froze solid.
  • forgot his/her/their winter clothes and became a popsicle

Overheating:
  • wore winter clothes during a heat wave and overheated.
  • stayed in the sun a little too long and overheated.

Lightning:
Currently not possible.

Flowers:
Currently not possible.

StrangerVille gp:

Spellcaster Overload:
  • overcharged and couldn't contain the magical energy.
  • tried to cast one too many spells.

Currently not possible.(Might never exist, but I'm keeping the options open)

Tiny Living sp:
Crushed to Death by a Murphy Bed:
Currently not possible.

Eco Lifestyle ep:
Flies:
Currently not possible.

Beetlejuice:
Currently not possible.(Again might never exist, but as ghost type exists, I'm keeping options open)

Snowy Escape ep:
Vending Machine:
Currently not possible.

Falling from Heights:
  • No cliffhanger here; slipped when rock climbing.
  • thought he/she/they could conquer a mountain, but the mountain conquered him/her/them.

Cottage Living ep:
Slain by Rabbit:
  • got on the bad side of a rabbit.
  • asked a rabbit if it wanted a carrot, but the rabbit chose violence.

Slain by Chicken:
  • got on the bad side of a chicken.
  • was victim to a vicious chicken attack.

Let's begin! I'll try my best to get those messages too. I think I'll create a save where I only allow accidental death to happen.
Edit. It turns out text for old age doesn't exist.

    The following 16 death types are currently included in the new neighborhood stories feature (with 2 text messages in each case):
    Anger
    Cowplant
    Drowning
    Electrocution
    Embarrassment
    Exhaustion
    Falling
    Fire
    Freezing
    Killer Chicken
    Killer Rabbit
    Laughter
    Overheating
    Sunlight
    Spellcaster Overload

    Interesting. So currently it's 16 out of 28 (old age excluded). Thus 57% is covered. That's interesting... I have yet to encounter embarrassment, overexertion, overheating, sunlight, and spellcaster overload.

    Could I ask where you got this information? It would be really interesting to know.

    The Hermit (Hilta?) In Granite Falls died due to a rabbit attack

    Supriya Delgato died of laughter

    Judith Ward died due to flies (but that's because she beat up my kid so that death is on me technically)

    A few random townies died but I didn't bother to see how

    I seem to have no luck getting new ones today...

    I'll have to try again another day, but if you get a unique death message when checking the mailbox for neighborhood stories, please share.

    That just made me laugh out loud! I had one of the Sulani Sims barge into my house and I didn't have the option to make them leave, so I had my Sim, June, fight them and then got the option to tell them to "Get off my lawn" and they finally left.

    Afterwards, I decided to turn on Neighborhood Stories on their household, so I'm waiting to see now if they die in an accident. I had thought about playing the household in question since I haven't before, but after they raided my fridge and knocked over my trash, I was like nope.

    When I first enabled deaths. I had 2 sims die in one day. Then I had 1 sim die each day. I've had 6 sims die so far. There was a couple of days when nobody died but other things happened like career changes and buying pets. Today I had my second young adult male sim die by fire. He left behind 2 kids and a fiancee. He never got a chance to marry but was engaged.

    It does sound like there are a lot of accidental deaths. How many cowplants are there in your game to cause so many deaths?


    I have no actual cowplants in my game. I just got that cowplant death notification multiple times in a short time.

    I got a cowplant snacking and flaming cereal in one day...cool beans.

    This is a fun way to dispose of your enemies. You no longer have to get close up to kill them. You can just mark them for death and no other life changes (if they live alone, or you don't care about their household).

    You could even split them off from their household to target them alone :p
