- VWoodsongSeasoned ObserverI haven't updated yet (and probably won't until some time after the next update), but when I do, I'll be turning everything off for now. I may eventually use the settings for retirements and deaths for unplayed households, and that's about it. I'll be keeping everything for played households turned off.
- HopeyStarrRising TravelerEverything is turned off for now! Tbh I'm a little nervous to allow the townies to do their thing, being a bit of a control freak myself :joy: What if a townie I wasn't expecting to adopts a child? Or the San Myshuno food stall vendor I am familiar with gets a different job? :disappointed: I have SO many townies in my game, many of whom I've given a personal makeover. Plus since I play with aging off I've been seeing them just as they are for literal years.
I think with more time (and testing) I'll give Neighborhood Stories a go. In the meantime I do like what I see. - I have it off for my one active family. On for some of the families under my household. Off for not in world Sims and special characters.
Some of the other households can adopt children and pets, have babies, enter and leave careers.
Death is disabled and no household is allowed to move.
I'll see how it goes and then probably add some more families and get them settled in homes suitable for having babies and pets. "elanorbreton;d-998364" wrote:
So many choices! So many decisions to make! Lol. I'm loving the customization for these, but now I have to make up my mind what to do...
So what settings have you decided to choose in your game?
I’ve decided to try it. I’ve kept it disabled for My Households but active for Other Households. They can adopt, get a pet, retire or change jobs.
I didn’t want random Sims dying or moving about or having babies. I would rather oversee those changes.
It’s actually a lot of fun and I like checking the mailbox for updates. ?
So far four unplayed Sims have changed jobs.- susanleonaSeasoned TravelerFor the three families per save that I play they're in My Households with the default for nothing to happen. I moved many other families that I don't play to Other households. But if the game causes big changes to some families I move them back to My Households.
- SweetieWright_84New SpectatorI have everything turned off for them, and everything turned on for all unplayed households. I may change a few settings once I decide whether this save is going to be rotational or a single family.
- Gamer_Cat24New TravelerSo far, for all the townies I took off the moving in and moving out options. I plan to keep my empty houses empty for my Sims.
I also turned off random deaths,, because with how Sims are, they population would decrease rapidly. I need them around to have kids for Sims in the future.
For elder Sims townies, I turned off their leaving the career options, so they can eventually retire. - I’m planning on keeping My Households opted out and then disabling adoption for the Other Households (I’d rather see who hooks up and produces bio kids, plus genetics are fun). There are some households I care about that aren’t in my rotation anymore, mainly relatives of the Maxis teens I play who are now young adults. I’ll fine tune each of those a little differently depending on what stage of their lives I think they should be in, but I think I’ll leave the chance of death. I don’t love the idea of them moving out of their family homes, so I’ll disable moves. I guess it no longer matters what kind of money they make but I can’t decide if them changing jobs would bother me. I would only want elders to retire, though. So it could be hard to decide on settings for households with mixed ages.
I think many of the parents are way past having more kids but I guess the Kealohas would be up for it. I’m curious what will happen with the younger siblings like Alexander and Max, they’ll inherit the family homes but I don’t want them to remain bachelors all their lives. Maybe they’ll have a child with someone and I’ll go move them in at that point. It would be nice to have extended family to visit without me managing all of them. - EmmaVaneSeasoned VeteranI'll be setting it for off for my households and on for others by default. Then I'll go through and add custom settings per household.
If I'm playing premade rotations, then the only sims to progress will be randomly generated ones, unless I take a liking to them and tweak their settings.
If I'm not playing the premades (legacy, etc) then I'll tweak the premades individually, e.g:- Premades will all have Move Out disabled so they don't become homeless, but most will still be able to move unless they have highly themed homes.
- The Goths won't be allowed to have any more kids, or move, but the rest I'll allow. (They only had 2 kids before Bella disappeared in TS2, and their house is very themed towards them).
- Gay couples would be allowed to adopt pets and kids, but not have them naturally (I like bio kids when playing gay couples, but I think when unplayed I'd like to see who they choose via adoption).
- Morgyn is sterile, so would have bio kids disabled (not sure if gender settings would prevent them otherwise).
- Sims with special roles such as Father Winter, HoB premades, Sages, Butlers etc would have job changes disabled to prevent them from losing their roles until dead or played.
- Green Fiends and Good sims might adopt kids (Green Fiends due to overpopulation, Good due to wanting to give kids a loving home), whereas most other sims would opt for bio-kids where possible.
- I'll likely disable adoption/babies for single sims, but party types (such as Partyhaus or players like Don) will have babies enabled to allow those accidental pregnancies to occur.
- I might also prevent Mersims from moving once they choose to live in a neighbourhood with swimmable areas.
- Outdoor Lover/Outdoorsy sims will be set to move if they live in apartments or lots with no outdoor space.
DHD is going to be very useful as sims move houses and their new homes need decorating to match the new occupants tastes and household. - Premades will all have Move Out disabled so they don't become homeless, but most will still be able to move unless they have highly themed homes.
- I had everything on for every household in my test save. The Landgraabs moved into a shack, lots of sims died and Gavin Richards disappeared without a trace, seriously I checked the notices several times and he just vanished. But…I thrive in “khaos” >:) so I wasn’t even mad lol.
My new save, I’m not sure what I’ll do yet.
