- keekee534 years agoSeasoned AceI play on rotation so I have it disabled for my played households. Now on my Other households I have everything activated except, adopting children and pets(was afraid of too many adoptions) and moving in and out of lots(I need my lots LOL).
It has been very interesting watching townies go through their lives by clicking on that mailbox every day while still maintaining some control. Speaking of control, I love how if I see a townie I want to keep from all of these things I can customize them at the household level. Now if they would get married and merge households on the backend I would be so happy but overall I am pretty satisfied with the system, - I've now played through one sim week with all of "My Households" set to allow them to adopt pets and so far 12 households have adopted a dog. None have adopted a cat....I feel like cats may have been left out of it. :(
I also have had "Other Households" set to allow everything except death, job changes, and moving out and in that week I have had 3 households have babies, and 2 move in to vacant homes. I have the households who are homeless elders also set to allow retiring and death and have had 3 deaths and 2 retirements.
I actually rather like the parity, new babies matches deaths which have occurred. I hope that continues. - JessReneeXP4 years agoSeasoned AceI have it all turned on except for my played households.
- I'm really loving the Neighbhorhood Stories. I have all settings on except Move Out and Quit Job globally. I have the individual families I play turned off completely. This is such a powerful feature because just a few hours into playing with this update, I can see some new faces showing up in Manage Households. (I also apparently have a buggy piece of CC that is making kinds appear with no face...it's freaky to say the least. Lol ). Jess Sigworth has gone missing. I missed the news of what happened to her :(

I'm finding adoption is rather aggressive. I think I had 4 new kids show up last night. I might turn that off globally. It would be AWESOME for building an Orphanage/Boarding school lot and setting up a Caregiver character. In fact, I do have a very large school in my gallery. I might try this out.- I decided to turn all of it off first as i really want to play all the sims myself for now as that has been whole goal of my current save
and it inspires me to play stories and sims i wouldn't normally end up with
I think i might eventually test some things for specific households though... well once ive chosen some lab rats
mostly i wonder
since the neighborhood stories includes the changing careers thing on it
now that ive turned neighborhood stories off will this also help with the ages old problem of sims changing careers on their own while im not playing them (like princess cordelia deciding she is cop all of sudden or nancy landgraab becoming massage therapist)
or does it just turn off the additional career changes via this new thing - I just went through my current load and pulled households I wanted to not be affected by death into my households and noticed the number premades with new children was insane. Anyone else? Like the Jangs have 4 kids suddenly etc.
- @wahini2024, I am 9 sim days in to using the neighborhood stories and have had only 3 babies born from it so far. In comparison, I have MCCC also set to cause pregnancies, at a rate of just 1%. In that same period of time, MCCC has caused 9 pregnancies. So my experience is that the neighborhood stories birth rate is quite low.
Perhaps there is a computation done by it, so if your game has very few children it will do it more. - @Stormkeep this hasn't been a birth rate but adoption. The Jangs have 2 kids that clearly don't share their genetics. The Delgado family has a very white female child. The Caliente family has three toddlers none the same race. So I think it's more adoption than birth. I haven't seen new birth yet in the stories outside of the family in Strangerville near town. They had twins. My non households are getting huge.
