It is quite sad to be honest that a pack completely dedicated to just cats and dogs didn't even come with an outdoor house for them or proper beds like the ones in TS3 and TS2.

Well, maybe these are for the indoor pets. We'll probably get proper beds for barn dogs and cats later, with a country/farming EP. Those beds are so uncomfortable looking that even my in game dog refuses to use and prefers to sleep directly on the floor.

Yeah, I have been saying this for a while, but 4 (even including MFP) has the worst pet pack to date. Absolute disappointment.

I think I saw the TS2 ones made as CC for TS4, not sure if they will protect from rain or cold if used outside.

Once Sims 5 comes along with custom built doghouses, controllable pets, pet employment, pet competitions, luxurious pet beds, you'll all forget and never look back. Hold on. Keep the faith.

In the meantime here are some really nice pet beds and dog houses.
I'm not using any of it as I'm waiting for the end before using any cc but it's definitely on my list.

I don't use CC but those do look pretty nice.

I think in regards to pets in the series, I prefer TS4 (I don't care about controlling them or employment or competition; I like that they just hang around the lot doing their own thing). The beds and lack of small pets are my only two major issues (and tbh I can't fault them for not including small pets in a pack called Cats and Dogs). Them beds tho lol.

This is something that frustrated me. I can get they may not have wanted the dogs left outside, but to not give us good quality beds in an expansion AND stuff pack is ridiculous.

Giving us the ability to build small out buildings using 'half walls' in B/B would have been the better option in my opinion. Ideally it should have come in a free patch before cats and dogs came out, with some Maxis pre-built doghouses available on the gallery since I get not everyone wants to build stuff. Just like they did with Spas and Restaurants.

I don't even get why the Cats and Dogs EP + MFPS encourages the player to only have their animals indoors.
As @ChadSims2 mentioned, these so called pets are being treated by the Gurus like they're human children.
Apparently dogs can be as intelligent as a 5 year old kid, but that doesn't mean they're humans.

C&D gives me no other choice than letting pets sleep on the bed or the couch (because the rug is just a rug) and maybe wear cute little clothes. Why do animals have to wear clothes?? They're furry! Each to their own I guess. Give the poor dog a jumper when he goes outdoors because he doesn't have a doghouse!

I'm a dog person without a dog, but if I had one it gets to stay in the yard, in a dog-sized house. I simply can't recreate something in TS4 based on that simple, logical idea without building a shed the size of a mansion. In dogs eyes that is.

If the team truly wants to treat the pets like they are almost human, why wouldn't they give them proper beds?

I'm a dog person with a real dog and I've never had a doghouse. I have no problem with those who do and I also wish they'd been included in Cats& Dogs. Along with fluffier pet beds.

She's also smarter than the average 5 year old. And probably some adults. :p

If I was ever to get a dog I will probably build a whole bedroom for my baby, including en-suite. Or it can live in my bedroom and I’ll build a doghouse for myself. It’s probably better that way. ?
