- GalacticGal5 years agoLegend@NikolaiBanks According to the Q & A provided above, you should be able to play those games. Sounds as if they're connected to your EA account. Anything you purchase while in the Beta is connected to your EA account, too, and will show up in the App.
- Simmerville5 years agoLegendI don't play any other game than sims, and my day has no room for more games anyway. Not using online features, as I go offline before logging in. TS is not a social thing for me, I prefer playing alone (and sharing later on blog and forum), than to chat along the sessions. But - Origin is still annoying as it takes forever to shut down etc. So I might welcome the new app, but am in no hurry.
- It's just a rebranding, nothing to get all worked up.

Same here.
Unless I hear any really positive feedback before hand. - Jayel-15 years agoSeasoned Ace

Hopefully EA Desktop will be better. I've been trying the beta and so far has been using a lot less resources in the back than Origin does. There's still a lot missing so I can't say how much better the end product will be, but hopefully it will all in all a lot better.
I will replace Origin somewhere down the line.
Thanks for the head sup crinrict. I'll keep watching for updates. - Lonewolf10445 years agoSeasoned Ace

I agree as apps are changed from time to time. "crinrict;c-17667898" wrote:

Thank you for this, I was starting to believe I was the only person in the world who knows how big of a resource hog Origin is while it does it stuff in the background. I will be glad to see Origin go.- SimAlexandria5 years agoSeasoned AceSo I got the Beta test version today and I have to say I love it! It's not that much different from Origin as far as how it works but wow does it run WAY faster for me. I found it very easy to navigate and didn't take nearly as long to load anything.
I did notice it doesn't currently have a "repair game" feature in it.
I did notice that while in game a lot of the issues I was having are fixed but... I also did upgrades to my windows so that might have been the fix for them. Game loaded faster though.
Interesting Note: Expansion Packs are labelled as "Expansion Packs" but Game and Stuff packs are both labelled "MicroContent".
When I go to my collections, my Sims 2 Ultimate Collection is missing, but there is a note saying not to worry if not all games are there yet as they are still moving some over. My 3, 4 and Sim City are there.
Is it okay to post screenshots? I can delete if not.
