- Reddestiny921Seasoned HotshotI like it, minor change can be nice but I'm sure they'll change it again cause of complaints.
- Lucy_HenleyNew SpectatorApparently, according to @EA_Cade in another thread, she’s gone from the main menu for now. I’ve not played for a couple of days, so my game hasn’t updated yet. Luckily mods don’t seem to have been majorly affected, so I’ll get back to playing soon.
- Arguably, nudging players to resume from your last played sim reduces the options offered to you by default and, by design hides other potential play options
In the old menu, regardless of what type of player you are, it would take you two clicks to pick up from where you left off. The World view, in a visual way, communicates look at all these options for play - play from where you left off, play a new household, play in a new world, see what's new in the community, etc etc
The new menu suggests these are your only options. The world view here, in some cases, only serves as a confirmation screen. In others it doesn't feature at all. So many players may not even know it exists beyond it being travel to a place screen.
Total Speculative Conspiracy Theory: Is this the start of the Sims 5 Metaverse nudge campaign where you choose and resume your sim avatar to enter the 'verse? - crocobauraSeasoned AceI don't plan on using the resume button. To me it doesn't make sense as I play many households and rarely play the same household in succession, so resume button makes no sense. They used to have the feature where the game would load up the last played in neighbourhood but they removed that. That feature was more useful as I usually spend more time in a neighbourhood, either building community lots or playing households.
- They must have been thinking of me as I only play one save, one household. ?
- ReaganboganNew NoviceI like the resume button. It saved me a couple of minutes on loading.
- Nothing was taken away from players by changing how the Resume button works, since you can always go through Load Game for the same result as before. But now they’ve cut down on one loading screen for the players who want to resume from the last household played. It’s just one more option for how to start playing the game.
- atreya33Seasoned VeteranI usually open the game with load game and that option is still there so I am OK with the change. The fact that the resume button shows the last active sim is an improvement to the previous playbutton. I might even start to use that button on occasion from now on. One loading screen less, is an improvement.
Though I would have liked the gallery and options to be separate from the rest because the right panel is starting to look cluttered. - Sara1010pRising RookieAlso doesn't bother me, I know how to get to other households if I want to within the same save.
- LolzarellaRising ScoutI don't mind Ring Ring Girl but the blue on blue of the lower buttons is too similar, the contrast used on the Resume button is much better. I think it would also look better if the lower buttons had a little more spacing between them.
