We did, we got family portraits. You just have to link your game with The Sims Mobile.
It's more than just linking your game, though. Apparently if you already have The Sims Mobile linked to your EA account you're not eligible. It appears to just be for new downloads of the game. And from what I've just been reading on Twitter, it's no longer available for anyone to download. Don't know if it was released before intended or what's going on.

It’s not a new thing if many Simmers aren’t eligible for various reasons. It’s just a poor way to push downloads for the mobile game.
