New Stairs Still Broken (Railings)

Please, please let us choose where we want our railings! PLEASE fix this! This was a much loved option in sims 3, can we PLEASE get this back!?

WHY is this still happening? I thought with the stair update we'd get more control, NOT end up with This!!!

    I hate that it does an automatic thing. It's like wallpaper. What if I want to decorate a roof gable end with one wallpaper and the other end with another? Or put a wallpaper with an upright siding post in the middle of a wall instead of the edge?

    If there's one thing that I've learned about TS4, it's that there is always something really broken about almost every feature.
