That's what I was thinking as well. Just pick a day and go with it. They likely won't recognize the day as being their birthday, or get upset if they don't get a cake. But for calendar/gameplay purposes it might still be good to try out.
I also don't think the present giving would work well either being that everyone would give everyone a gift. And not limit the present to the birthday sim.
Shame the birthday idea isn't better setup. But oh well. Such is sim life lol.
