No one wants my autograph

Give them; don't wait for sims to ask for it. This shoud work.

Else, they should as long as you're 5x celebrity and do your ceremony, if you need THEM to initiate it.

Kinda hard to come by since the nerf..... I could not get the quirks I wanted without chests because even as a 5 star they treat me like a 1 or 2 star celebrity. People barely notice me.
Before they nerfed it I had fans dropping left and right?? I actually had to go out in disguise to get some peace. (Like a real celebrity) and it was fun. If you didn't want that attention you could either lower your stars or go out in disguise. But people complained it was too much and now my 5 star is treated like the average joe....

I’m not a 5 star celebrity. I think I’m 2 or 3 stars. The ask for autograph is in the middle of the aspiration journey. So I shouldn’t have to be 5 stars to get people to ask me.

Wow. I wish people would just ask for it. Celebrity life is supposed to be hectic and full of fans, stalkers, weird mail, possibly a few hackers wanting your money, people to sue for giving you a bad name, and pesky photographers. That's what would make it come alive, at least.

And why nerf it? If players can't stand it, they have the option to quit the spotlight.

When was it nerfed? Before the latest patch, my sim who is 3 or 4 stars was bothered for autographs every time she went out in public.

I can only suggest having your sim go out to community lots more often, going to the meet & greets, and offering autographs to random fans.

Click on any sim and just give them an autograph.

I tried that, but it doesn't complete the aspiration. I also tried adding a fan to my household, but then that sim wasn't a fan anymore.

I feel it's been nerfed. Even the 5 star celebrities that come with the game don't have constant Paparazzi around them anymore.

Click on the 'fan' and then use the friendly menu. You should find the option to give autograph. Your Sim must be the one to seek. Once in awhile fans will ask my Sim for his autograph, but if you need this fulfilled for an aspiration (such as the Celebrity Meet & Greet goals) have your Sim be the one in pursuit. Hope this helps.

ETA: I haven't found it to be nerfed. Erik is just as popular as he always was. :)
Most often it's Child Sims who approach for an autograph, at least in my game.

Now Sims 3 did well with their celebrities. Occasional items from factories just for being famous, and almost daily paparazzi visits.
