No water under ocean?

Ever since they gave us flat, tile-looking snow in Seasons this is what I expected tbh.

Wow you are basing how bad it looks off first persons mode? Like someone else said you aren't really suppose to look at that stuff so of course it going to not be up to what you think it should look like. Its also a game and the end of the day you are going to buy it because you really want what it offers or you aren't going to buy it because you think it should be Sims 3 quality. Which if this was the Sims 3 it would definitely run like the sims 3 and lag severely no matter how good your computer was. So I am personally glad it isn't the Sims 3.

As someone who only uses first person view for screenshot purposes, the only thing that this does for me is no underwater shots. Which somewhat sucks, but I too fail to see why this could be considered a big deal or "immersion breaking" when the first person view itself removes your Sim's head and when you exit said view, it takes a second for the head to appear again, making your Sim headless for that period of time.

I understand the criticism, I just can't agree with the leg its standing on.

Anything that’s patched into this game is an official feature. Like they even set aside time to live stream it’s unveiling and people are seriously sitting here trying to say it’s unofficial. L O L. Oversight happens, a lot with Sims 4, no need to pull these crazy excuses out of thin air.

It’s not an excuse. You can call it official all you want, but one Guru making something in his spare time is not an official item to me.

Distributing it in a mandatory game update, advertising it on an official livestream, and using it for their own marketing material says it’s an official feature regardless of who made it or why. Calling it unofficial after all of that hoopla is absolutely an excuse, and it’s not even the company making it.

This. Everyone seems to be forgetting it’s not an official feature, it was a guru who had some spare time outside of work who thought we’d like something cool. The Gurus didn’t even have to add it but they did. ?

Sure it was a product of a devs spare time, but it was patched in. It's not like an optional mod like MCCC, EA made it apart of the game. Had they treated it like a mod where I could download it if I wanted to then I could see ignoring it but its apart of sims 4 source code now, its a feature of the game whether its an official one or not it is part of the game every one has this in their game, I think they should have considered this when creating the pack.

Yes. Quite rightfully so, people were looking forward to snorkelling in first person. They assumed that would have been considered. Because it was a pet project doesn’t mean it’s not a feature. Because first person is. The devs talk about it a lot and show it off. Once it’s in the game it becomes a feature. Regardless of its origin.

Not all that all bothered diving in general, especially since it was pretty dull in the previous game. Nice to look at, but pretty 'meh' as well as the graphic quality looked like it went down. Only benefit was diving being fairly lucrative, but I'm sure others liked it or at least having the option. (Though I kinda feel like it probably would have ended up being a loading screen to go to the underwater part if it was implemented.)

Yeah, I would have liked some underwater lots again.

If it’s 32bit that is holding it back, now that they’re deciding to do 64bit, maybe in a far future pack or in Sims 5, we could get some underwater lots/underwater worlds or something like that.
