I'd say I'm somewhere between the dollhouse and simulation poles. I want to control my active Sim, so I decide if and when they dance and wash their hands. I'll stop other members of the active household from doing wacky random actions most of the time. If that's playing dollhouse, then so be it.
I don't mind other Sims doing their own things. If they'd rather Troll Teh Forums or drink gallons of water than anything else, that's all good.
