Oh Dear, My Sim Seems To Be Collecting …

How about collecting semolians? Earlier today I went through my game save and found two of my sims had accumulated a very large amount of money, and I don't have any idea how. I ended up using money cheat to knock them both down to 5000 each. Originally one sim had almost four hundred thousand semolians, and the other had almost half of that, and they are first time played sims and still in their young adult life stage.

If you tell your Sim to use a guitar you've placed in their inventory, they will inevitably leave it sitting in the middle of the room instead of putting it back in the inventory. If they use a guitar at a venue, it somehow ends up in their inventory. They do this just to spite us, I think. My current kid keeps leaving her little pink violin right in front of the back door. I've never understood why they see fit to put some things back in their inventory, other things on the floor, and still other things in hidden places you'll never find, such as bookcase shelves or half-walls.

Seriously, though, he might have picked up one or more at a venue, or been awarded one. My Sim kid found a violin in someone's pocket (??!) in the laundry hamper, and I think there's at least one place where you can get guitars while fishing.

My kleptomaniac secret agent keeps stealing tablets from work. No wonder she always has at least one to play with even though I keep selling them. Right now she has four in her inventory, and she won't let up! It annoyed me at first, but now I don't mind... Helps paying the bills of her expensive San Myshuno apartment.

I was moving one of my families recently and discovered tons of wooden sculptures in their inventury, all made by the father.
Except: a) he has never showed any interest in handiness, the most complicated thing he has ever done is to fix the broken shower.
b) his family does not own the crafting table, and neither do any of the other sims I play. So I would really love to know where did he made those sculptures.
I am used with my artists having new paintings in their inventories when I return to them in my rotational play, because it kind of makes a sense. But a clumsy musician taking up woodwork when left to his own devices is something new and amusing.

Perhaps you may not have known it, but your Sim may have visited a woodworking table that was in some other lot that you visited, usually an art center. Your sim may also have been picked to sell wares at a yard sale table that's generated in the Arts quarter in the city, and they usually keep the inventories that the game gives them. I've gotten all sorts of wooden sculptures, MySims trophies, and random crystals and metals from my Sims over the years, and that's just the start of it!

I realized once I saw it from what venue he had 'borrowed' it from. Problem is, it won't allow me to remove it from his inventory. And the only way he can remove it is to play it. Standing just outside of the lot boundaries at the Orchid A Go Go (a remodeled version) he plays it from the small crowd who had gathered to possible get a glimpse of a rare visit from a star. Then, of course, he sets it down. But, like I said, it is outside the boundary. I couldn't scoot it back to where it belonged. So, I did the next best thing. I went into build mode and my Sim paid for a duplicate of the one he'd borrowed. Recompense. Oh, well. LOL

I would gladly trade musical instruments for what I usually find from my sims inventory. They appear to have a special fondness for dog poop and empty plates :D

At least you Sim has the Kleptomaniac Trait to excuse the behavior. Mine doesn't! But @invisiblgirl gives a very good explanation. I'm just going to have to keep a better eye on him from. :D
