Option to disable vampires?

If there are not enough Sims to fill this position (Sims are busy, they already have other jobs, they are not selectable for this job, etc.) the game generates a Sim to fill the role. This could be (but is not encouraged to be) a vampire. We did do work to make sure vampires don’t spawn by default if the job is scheduled for a day time shift.

Vlads texts and tweets are not contained to forgotten hollow. He will occasionally visit a sleeping human Sim at night. This has a very high chance to occur the 1st time and then is dramatically lowered.

NPC Vamps never bite and turn other Sims into Vampires.
NPC Vamps are never moved into lots (except for the 2 lots by default in Forgotten Hollow)
NPC Vamps will never replace a player Sim or any other Sim living in the world.

Perhaps someone could make a mod that functions like garlic, but looks like a sign. (That someone would not be me, however. I'm just a spectator sitting in the stands.)

I agree to. I mean they knew it was a vampire pack so why buy it if you want it toned down?

Maybe because you want to play different stories in different saves for example.
I don't see why an OPTION to disable them would bother anybody. It's just an option, just a box to tick or untick. It wouldn't change your game.

The seriously makes no sense to me to have a toggle to turn off vampires its a vampire game pack there for its all about vampires that is really not the smartest idea to pay 20 dollars just for the content in the game. Its not worth 20 dollars to me. Its worth 20 dollars to me because I am playing with vampires.

It's my understanding the game has actual garlic to keep vamps away so why would you need a sign? I mean if you especially like signs okay I can understand that.

If you don't want vampires then don't buy the pack but don't ask the option to be disabled you buy the pack knowing what it is accept it for what it is.

That's not really fair to those who might want vampires in some saves but not in every save -- an option to turn them off (either in MCCC or via an on/off switch in Gameplay) would be fair for all play styles. And there is plenty of content in this pack that can appeal to the non-vampire fan: the decals for ripped wallpaper and cracked walls will be great to add to some of the ratty City Living apartments, as will the cobwebs, and there are some lovely furnishings and build decor that will suit larger mansions (I think I need to do another remodel on Oakenstead). I especially love the toilet with the hanging water tank. And the carpet runner will be perfect for wedding venues. B)

I would hate for them to be toned down, but it is such a shame that a toggle seems impossible.

I would love to buy this pack and have some games where I can play vampires and have dark spookiness etc etc, but I would also like to have some games that do not involve vampires at all.

Maybe they could come up with an option like they did in ts3 latest update, where you can select for certain packs to load when you start the game up? I wouldn't mind going without the furnishings etc for some games to be vampire free, and then when I wanted to play full-on vampishness I could select to play with that pack loaded :p

Placing a sign is faster than locating & growing garlic.

But someone on MTS just had an idea of making a lot trait, and I think that's even better than a sign. Such a thing would be nothing out of the ordinary to look at, fast, and at no cost. :smile:

Don't you think if that was possible then we would have had a toggle for alien abductions etc to do with aliens. The worlds are all connected unlike in Sims 3 where they are not connected. You can obviously shut off the pack in games you don't want any of the pack in. But I am fairly sure if toggles were possible in Sims 4 we would still have the aliens as we purchased them and not this horribly toned down version. Because of that - we just want the devs to leave the vamps alone. We paid for Vamps and expect them to be in our games. If we decide we don't want vamps any more, just shut off the pack. But for heavens sake don't mess with the pack for us who have it turned on. The aliens are now hardly more than just another Sims with no abductions for many of us who have sort of always expected them - now we have none or next to none for most of us that don't play with mods anyway.
