Out of curiosity, would you buy a new computer just to play The Sims?

I got a new computer to play the sims 4. I wouldn't have gotten such an expensive desktop or one with these features if I did not want to play the sims 4. But I also did not have a computer or laptop and was entering school again. So that's how I tried to justify my decision to myself. But sims 4 was the reason I went for a desktop instead of getting a laptop, like I originally wanted.
