outfits

i change my fashion lover Sim's clothes every day (well, it's more like every 2-3 days, because i often forget, ha). everybody else, maybe once a week. they all have two everyday outfits, and one each for the remaining categories. so there's a little variety when they change after showering.

i use the mirror, not the dresser, though. maybe i should have voted for "other"... :blush:

I hardly ever change mine, even when they age up - unless it's a ridiculous choice. But I'm pretty lazy when it comes to dressing my Sims lol.

It depends on whether I'm going to play a Single family and invest myself long term in the save or not. Although sometimes it doesn't make sense for the game, for example I'm currently playing the Abandoned Kids Challenge (by @Xoxk9) and everyone has a single outfit for each category, though some of the pieces are reused (shoes for example) and the outfits have pieces that clash like they had to take whatever was available to them.

I make up to 5 outfits but generally only deliberately change them when I want to, otherwise I leave it to the game to randomise

Usually make 3 to 5 outfits in most categories (usually leave it at one swimsuit and one fitness outfit).

Only ever change their clothes out at times when I think it's time for a change or a new pack comes out with some brand spankin' new clothes that might fit a certain sim. I know I give townies at least another outfit or so, just to change things up a bit.

I make 2 outfits: for summer and winter. I keep it like that until they become an elder so make another elderly combinations for summer and winter :blush:

I give them an outfit for every category, but I don't have them change into a different "every day outfit" ; they usually wear the same thing every day, sleep in the same pjs, work out in the same outfit and have an evening outfit. I don't have seven different evening gowns for every night of the week if they happen to go OUT every night to a place requiring a dressy outfit. Does that make sense? I think I'm confusing myself. LOL

Usual set up for a sims wardrobe: Everyday has 1 to 3 outfits. Formal has 1. Workout has 1. Sleep has 1 to 2. Party has 1. Swimwear has 1.5 (the .5 is the same outfit only with more accessories that you wouldn't want to wear in the pool e.g. sunhat and sandles) and... I play on PS4, so, no Seasonal options, yet.

I can spend an hour perfecting my Sim's look, and usually set one outfit per category. Some Sims get an additional outfit if their story requires it, but generally I treat them like cartoon characters and what they wear is what they wear. I'll update them for life changes like aging up, marriage, having children, or career switches, but often keep their original outfit as one of the extras for nostalgia. It bothers me when they auto-change into something that's not their main outfit!

I keep it simple. I pick their outfits when the age up (to toddler, child, and teen) since the game has this weird love affair with glasses and sleepwear. From teen, they tend to keep the same outfits, but, once in a while, I will update the outfit or change it slightly, but never anything major.
