Painting Masterpieces?

My Sims need to paint 5 Masterpieces for the Aspirations goal, (both are lvl 10 painting skill mastered) but now they arent painting any Masterpieces at all...I have them both very Inspired, and they both stopped painting masterpieces. They were painting them before when in other moodlets, but now that I need them to they havent painted a single one in like 20 paintings....i wonder if its a bug in the game or something that keeps them from painting masterpieces when they actually have to paint them for goals....in the other goals 1 out of every 5 was a masterpiece, but i didnt need them to be masterpieces i only needed them to be excellent, and now that they need to paint masterpieces they arent doing it....is there any particular kind and size of painting that gives them a better chance at a masterpiece, or is it just random? i have been trying all the different types of paintings except for paint from reference because i would need to move my easle around somewhere else to get a good image to paint, or go somewhere else like the park and put easles in the park to paint and give good images for painting. they already painted each other and no masterpiece from that (not that i expected one from a painting of my sims lol) its frustrating

I know your pain! I found no difference in the size of the painting, so I always made small ones to try to get masterpieces faster. I've also noticed each Sim I had seems to get way more masterpieces in one specific kind of painting, but it is different for each Sim, so you kind of have to figure it out. I had one Sim that made masterpieces almost every time they made an abstract painting (or maybe it was pop, I don't really remember), and then another Sims that made almost none in that category but tons in another.
