Considering the times we live in I think it's about time the Sims team made homeschool an option, it can be an easy option where a student can study at home without ever leaving home from the computer. Please making careers are so easy it would be amazing if the team could do this and release it with the next patch
Yes, if there was ever a time to patch in homeschooling. We've been asking for this since The Sims.- We'll lose the phone calls that change your kid's character values.
- I would love this. They could probably use some of the code for the freelancer careers (for the "staying at home part"), and they could give them new tasks every weekday to complete (schoolwork, developing specific skills etc). Homeschooling isn't allowed in my country, so I could be wrong, but don't homeschooled kids have to take some kind of exam at a public school at the end of every school year to "prove" their parents do a good enough job? This could also be a feature of homeschooling in the game (maybe at the end of every week).
What I've also thought about is that they could also add back the private school feature from TS2 where you have to impress the headmaster to get a place in the school. It doesn't really make sense for the kids from rich, old-school families to visit a normal public school like anyone else (I know some rich kids go to a public school, I am just generalizing). Some premade sims like Cassandra and Alexander Goth or Luna Villareal also look more like private school students (just based on their outfits). They could also add some boarding schools which focus on different skills/careers, either as rabbit holes or active lots. This could all be part of a bigger school pack. I'd buy it to be honest. - So, they would be expected to spend time on a computer. With Discover University someone can score a degree in education, so maybe some kind of bonus if a parent with that assists the child.
- mariefoxprice835 years agoSeasoned AceI'd use this but I'd still want regular schools to be the default option, and the sims have to make a deliberate choice to home school the kids.
- Lazzial5 years agoSeasoned AceI like it. They could do their homework at a computer like they normally do with the homework book then do chores around the house or even go on optional field trips with other homeschoolers. A day at a museum, park, or, whatever...
- Admiral8Q5 years agoSeasoned AceThere is a mod for that already. I haven't really used it much since it's nice to get the kids out of the house, (so to speak) :D
If they 'skip classes' they can still study on the computer instead. Basically work-at-home. I still get the daily nag of the principle calling though. Even with their performance going up from studying at home. - yes, yes, yes, I woud like this, as I do not play because I have to send my kids to school. Sims4 seems to want to run the way you play, it seems it their way or no way. so I guess it is no way with me. I can put aside that teens look like college kids, but the school thing has me stopped. Sorry I don't play with mods. My games sims 3 and 4 run great and I do not want to mess that up.

Every new pack is a "mod" really. ;)
Evrey update is also a mod. - Actually, having the ability to homeschool would work great with my family of mermaids that mostly keep to themselves.
