Plants not evolving

Have recently noticed that my sheltered plant isnt evolving at all, even though im taking care of it and there is a bee house next to it it isnt evolving past normal at all has anyone else found this?
  • And fertilizing the plant isn't working either? I don't want to sound like I'd know the solution to this, though usually with the gardening skills, besides watering the plants, caring for the plants as well as communicating with these plants periodically, one thing that has been useful in helping these grow successfully has been to fertilize them with all kinds of organic plants in the inventory, and that has usually been something that has helped these plants have the "evolve" sign. Though I'm definitely going to watch to see what was the solution to this issue, since I've yet to be in the situation of TRYING to make plants evolve. That's usually quite automatic. I hope that you find the solution to that issue though! Might be a glitch in the game that hopefully they fix!

I have found that plants only evolve during their specific seasons, sheltered or not, and don't need fertilizers ever to do so - it merely takes longer without. Some of the rarer plants take ages to evolve and ripen.
  • I'm going to ask the obvious questions, just in case: Don't you have the option to manually evolve that plant? The next one would be are you in the right season? And to finish, Do the evolution meter show any progress? If the answer is yes to those three, this may be a bug indeed.
  • the meter shows no progress and its sheltered so its grown fully, and no option to evolve as the meter hasnt moved at all, unless theres something new where it will grow out of season if its sheltered but cant be evolved out of season then i dont know

Did you fertilise the plants with fish or something of the like? and if you have seasons, do you have the bee box to help with passive fertilising of the plants?

I have had this issue before, so far only with sage. When I hovered over the plant it said 'Wild Sage' instead of just 'Sage' as if it wasn't cultivated. I had to remove and plant a new one. Maybe check for that. Otherwise it is a different bug, because even a plant that is not fertilized, but well cared for, will evolve, it just takes longer.
  • yes have the bee box only level 2 gardening so far so cant fertilize yet, just planted a snapdragon which evolve bar is halfway to the first evolution but hasn't moved since, it doesn't say wild plants as i got the very first plant from starter packet yet the snapdragon is wild but doesn't have a wild title.
  • I had a problem with this a while back too. I read somewhere that they evolve more slowly when sheltered than outdoors so I moved mine back outside. It did seem to make a difference but it's still slow. I have seasons on a 7-day cycle so they barely had time to regrow and harvest a few times before they went dormant again so in hindsight, I would suggest leaving them sheltered until they come in season and then move them outside so you don't have to wait.

ETA: And obviously, like others have suggested, make sure they're well-tended.
  • yeah seems everything is super slow with plants now my sims aspiration will take forever to complete lol wondering if greenhouses are worth it
  • I found that I have to actually click on them to see evolve. My plants do not always sparkle. Especially the ones that are out of season... And I go into buy debug and get 3 grow fruit and plant them. I use the grow fruit that my Sims harvest to fertilize. You can even download grow fruit from the gallery. Yesterday I did evolve out of season tulips that have never grown before. I think they are a spring plant. It did however take almost a full Sim week for the grow fruit to be harvested. As soon as I used it to fertilize I had lots to evolve. Before that the plants where only fertilized with fish or flowers and did not evolve. My oldest plants have been planted about 13 Sim days. It's one day to fall.
