Actually, it is possible to go through doors in First Person Mode. You just have to know the keys.
SHIFT + TAB First Person Toggle
LEFT-CLICK Pie Menu
RIGHT-CLICK Go Through Doors
LEFT-CTRL Stop Camera and Recenter based on Sim's View
SPACE Cycle to the Next Sim
SHIFT + move the mouse Camera is locked, but the cursor can freely move about the screen
