Poor quality honey?

My sim has level 8 gardening skill. My bees are always either irritated or angry. I've only seen them calm like twice, so it's hard to bond with them or collect a swarm without getting stung. Every time I collect honey from them it's in poor quality. How can I can improve my honey quality?

By upping your relationship with them in my experience. I have had my Sims bond with them when they are irritated, wouldn't recommend it when they are enraged though :worried: , but now I get consistant normal quality honey. You can up your relationship with them while bonding when they are irritated because they don't always sting. Enraged though... I haven't yet found a way to keep them calm consistantly but for me they rock between calm and irritated. Once became enraged and then they needed a mite treatment and the rain also tend to enrage them or at least keep them in constant irritated state. Bringing them inside did help.
  • You have to have a really good relationship for good honey. If you take time to work on the flower arranging skill and grow crocus any arrangements scented with crocus become 'bee-friending' and placed close to the bees keeps them calm until they wilt.

Ah cool. Didn't know that. None of my Sims have started doing that but its worth looking into if I go into a large scale honey factoring...but does anyone know the effects the radio might have on bees if it is turned on next to them? I put the bees into the painting studio/greenhouse and I sometimes have my Sim listen to the radio while painting to keep his fun meter happy but I noticed (might have been a coincidence) that the bees stayed irritated completely.

It depends. Some have found certain stations soothe their bees while those stations enrage others bees. Of course it might also just be coincidence and music might not influence them. I've not seen anything official on that.

Oh, I didn't know that. I'll try to do that, thanks.
  • This might be a dumb question but how do you bond with enraged bees? I can never get them to be calm they are always enraged and stinging my sims .
