I like that the footprint tends to go to neutral, because my sims are not very much into saving the world. I think it would have been better if the industrial and green footprints were actually neighborhood traits you could assign from the map view. That way there would have been more control over what goes on in the neighbourhoods, with the option to change it to neutral or green/industrial through gameplay if you wanted.
