postcard collectibles

My military wife needs a hobby since I am going to have her just pop out a bunch of kids and be a stay at home mom. I have never done the postcard collectible. Where do you find them?

  • Carl's Sims 4 Guide has some insight on collectibles: here. If you have My First Pet Stuff and a rodent they may sometimes go on adventures and send you back postcards as well. That's how I've gotten most of mine.
  • Use a computer. Under ‘Socalise’ there is ‘Find a Pen Pal’
You post for a new pen pal and then (later) ‘Check for Replies’
When you are notified you have a new pen pal you can ‘Write to (name of place from TS3)’
At some point, if not immediately, you can ‘Ask for a Postcard’

Postcard will arrive in your mailbox (snail mail not electronic) approximately the following day.

Rinse and Repeat for the whole collection (as far as I know).
    Hope that helps. -Happy Simming.

oh, so it's all done through the computer? You don't go out into the worlds and search? Maybe I should do frogs or snow globes if that's the case.
  • Yep. I don’t have my first pet stuff so all mne have been through the computer.
With snow globes, you’ll want to live in San Myshuno because that is where the boxes for them appear/spawn.
Frogs is just about anywhere except the city.
Don’t forget the My Sims trophies if you haven’t done them before. You’ll collect fossils, gems and metals as well that way.
  • Even in in the city/San Myshuno there are frogs, you can find them in the great park venue.
  • My sim got together with one of the golden statues and when she moved in she had all the snowglobes in her inventory. Party pooper.

Do I *HAVE* to live in San Myshuno to collect Snow Globes or can I just keep traveling there? My sims are settled in Willow Creek right now. lol And yes, I've done the My Sims Trophies, gems and metals every time I play the Scientist Career track :)
  • You can keep traveling there but it takes a trip or two and a few hours spent in each city neighborhood for the boxes to spawn. If you go for a festival just keep an eye out for the boxes. I had some pop up after the humor fest. Don't forget you can also collect posters on the electric boxes. Happy hunting!

It would probably be fun to have her work on multiple collections. The MySims are a good one to collect, so are the snowglobes and posters. The frogs, beyond getting them, are a lot of player actions (you have to breed two to get some that are rarer to collect in world). But, the postcards are a fun one to collect, if you buy the corkboard and display them. Plus, with each collection you complete, you get a plaque in the mail (some don't have plaques, a error on EA's part, I imagine. Sometimes you have to go into buydebug to get the plaque).

It's all fun for a stay at home mom to do, in between taking care of kiddos.

Didn’t know the corkboard actually had a purpose. Found out there’s a display for the elements too from watching Deligracys recent LP. Huh, TIL.
