The description for the Potion of Immortality says it prevents death from old age. Does anyone know if this prevents ageing at all? If a young adult Sim takes it, for instance, will they stay at YA, or will they continue ageing and just not die, staying at Elder forever?

I would prefer it if it freezes aging but I can still use the other one.Guessing that it doesn’t stop aging, just death at the end of it.

there's the Rejuvenation potion "A potion to allow a Sim to remain at their current age." I just wonder if that means forever or if it's like that other potion that just sets the clock back to the beginning of an age.

It's should be freeze of aging like vampires? unless they want make vampire only kind of freeze of age and immortal while Potion of Immortality gave you not die by aging but still age (it's would be decay, not true immortality) for gameplay balance, they might not want vampire become useless. I hopeful it's replace of Potion of Youth, but I guess not, it's make all Potion of Youth, Cow Plant and Age-Away serum useless while same time you had to keep drinking those, if you want stay young forever, making Potion of Immortality useless unless you want elder forever, that's make vampire seem a tempt to become vampire as vampire had both by stay young and live forever at cost of eating/drinking plasma.I guess it's all gameplay balance?

Elders not dying from old age would still be useful in my rotational save. I zip around and make sure that the ones I need for family trees are ok until it is their “death-by-flower-arrangement-day”. Yay!!If I can just give each sim one potion and then have a “npc-control-spree” then that would save me a lot of work.Will do some testing soon >:) :)

As I understand it, Potion of Immortality is for making elders live forever while continuing getting older.While the Rejuvenation Potion freezes age.I wonder if there is a way to turn back the effect of these potions. Drinking the cursed potions? BTW, do you realize that there are actually x2 amount of potions in the GP, because the cursed bottles make different effects? And there is a perk that allows cursing potions willingly.

I read through this thread and got hopelessly confused. So what exactly do the potions of immortality and rejuvenation do? As I understand it:

Immortality: Prevents a Sim from dying of old age. Question: Is it one time or do you need to continue to take the potion and if so how often?

Rejuvenation: Prevents a Sim from ageing up. Questions: Is it a one time thing and you never have to take the potion again or does it reset the Sims age so he has to periodically take the potion again?

Ok. One of my sims drank a potion of immortality and turned into a ghost. Now she won't turn back. Is there anyway to return her to normal?

It's similar to the potion of youth from the rewards store. Another case of EAxis recycling features.

Yeah... I have a few elders that I want to walk in my saves forever. Would be nice to give them the potion and just see them playing chess in the park and so forth. Keeping my fingers crossed that the potion will work in my game.

@FKM100 If having your Sim drink another potion of immortality doesn't work, there's a spell that might do the trick. It's called 'Dedeathify.' The description simply says, "Restore a ghost to their original physical form." It doesn't say they have to actually be dead, just a ghost. However, the name of the spell does imply it's intended for the ghost of a dead Sim so it might not work. I guess it's worth a try anyway though. *shrugs*

Just to report back - I made my sim drink another potion of immortality and it did restore her to her normal physical form (thank heavens!). Before that, I tried the 'Dedeathify' spell on her, but it did not do the trick.

and also provide saves for them to test to help them resolve the bug!

As for my opinion on how immortality works in RoM, my personal lore for it requires no aging only, but can still die from everything else but old age.

Noes, hope they get enough saves so that they can fix it. I really looked forward to using this potion in my saves.

@Faust-RSI, do you mean that giving your ghost sim another immortality potion to drink will restore them to their normal 'alive' state? I am having the same problem as @Bronwin2 - the potion backfired and my sim is still a ghost after more than a week. I am at my wits' end.
