Can't you just ignore the baby until the social worker comes to take it away? I always thought when that happened they were adopted. The reason I thought this was in 2 I had one daughter taken from a couple I had made. Later when I played a lonely spinster I had (well she got married but both of them were past child bearing age and I didn't like the fact that they would die and no one would be there to inherit the home and possessions) them adopt and it turned out they adopted the girl from the parents who the social worker had taken away.
