Puppy cannot go upstairs.

It has been confirmed puppies and kitties can't go upstairs, there is an option to carry them, if you don't have that option try repairing your game and playing without mods.

You expect a puppy to be able to master stairs so little?

It's not that, for some reason the pick up option is grayed out, I repaired the game and I never used any mods. I fixed it by lowering the base of the house removing the need for the stairs, ty for the responses!

No mods to my knowledge. If you download the mod that lets you control the pets you can also use ‘testingcheats’ and then shift+click and select teleport. This will teleport the puppy/kitten to the indicated spot without needing to be picked up and carried up or down stairs. This method only works with the controllable pets mod though, w/o it Pets cannot be selected.

But somehow they can transport...
I've seen that couple times.

In real life puppies can't go up stairs, they learn as they grow, sane as in Sims 4

If pick up is greyed out, have you tried resetting your pup or your sim? The cheat is very simple, if you don't know it - bring up cheat console, type resetsim puppyfirstname puppylastname

Aha! I've found a solution! If you download the teleport sim mod, you can teleport your puppy or kitten inside! I've just done it my self!

Hmm, I thought you could use the teleport cheat, didn't know you needed a mod. Press shift and click on the spot you want them to go to. I just went into my game with a kitten and it worked to move her into the house where I wanted her. No mod needed. Hope that helps those who choose not to use mods.

Well puppy's can't go up staircases so that makes sence. You should be able to carry them.
