Qs about writing books

I think the genres work the same way as painting styles. Each is a hidden skill that your get better at the more you write. So once you unlock the genre you want them to write, stick to that one.

Is it a confirmed thing that they're hidden skills, the genres?

I’m referring to this. You can see which genres you’ve written, if it was a bestseller, and how much you made from it right in this convenient little chart.

Um this information is still in the game though, just not on the chart. So I don't understand what you're saying really.

You just have to make sure your sim is very inspired when they finish a book. Some things you can do to ensure they are very inspired when they complete a book, which may be kind of cheaty, but eh, whatever are:

Make sure you have lot traits home studio and chefs kitchen and own a shower.

When you've completed 3/4 of the book get your sim to stop writing and take a thoughtful shower, stargaze/cloudgaze just until the moodlet appears, click on the fridge and select cook then just close the food selection menu - they should be very inspired after all that then you can finish the last 1/4 of the book and will have a higher chance of a best seller.

@Chazzzy As I said you can copy the book and the information is there. It's a non-problem really. And has nothing to do with my questions anyway so... whatever.

This! When I stop by an author in my game, I normally don't even remember if she published anything yet, or what the result was. I miss an easier way to look it up. (Is there any way at all?)
