Question: How Can I Keep Other Sims From Moving Into A New Build?

I made the choice today to go ahead and build a new cabin for my soon-to-be new young couple. I don't want any other Sim to move in, which has happened in the past whenever I've placed a build on the desired lot. I was really rankled when a Sim had the audacity to move into Erik Cantrell's newly built home before he could. :open_mouth: The nerve.

I have made sure the 'have Sims move into empty lots' is unchecked, too.

I'm hoping the fact that I've left off the stairs on both doors will do the trick. Has anyone else come up with a better solution, and do you think this will work?

Please, and thank you, in advance. Otherwise, I'll just have to go back onto the lot and upload it to my library until the wedding.

  • Are you using mccc? Because it ignores that setting. If you I think setting the number of bedrooms to 0 keeps mccc from moving sims in.

Yes, I do, as a matter of fact.

Is this a MCCC setting? Because, I have not uploaded this brand new build to my library, so there isn't a bedroom count. I'm lost.

On the top left when building the lot, where you set lot traits, there is an area to type in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Leave them at zero.
  • I think you'll have to check the population controls and pregnancy settings to make sure you haven't set up your MC to allow homeless to move in from the streets, or single sims to be moved out and into new places or couples to have prority. MC usually does this every midnight where a check is ran.

I haven't messed with any of those, so unless it comes that way, I think I'm safe. But, I do appreciate the information. I'm still learning about this fantastic mod. :)

Cool, I did not know that. Also, you just reminded me I set no lot traits. :open_mouth: Thanks!
