Randy sims and their progeny

Is it just my game or do you all have sims that have a woohoo that produces kids, this is townies I'm talking about. Who then run off and have nothing to do with them.
I'm having trouble finding sims for my sim to marry as everyone is so inter-related! I do have MCC so not sure if that could be a cause or a possible solution.
They seem to be having multiple encounters with different sims and have children with more than one person. So it's getting very messy.
I've been running around using CAS to try and marry townies together so that maybe there'll be some consistency. I suppose it is the way the world is nowadays, with split families. But this is more just like a free for all. Let's woohoo, create children and lump them and leave them!

One sim and no he's not Don, and Don has many. One sim has 4 children to as many mums and he's married with 3 kids!

It's getting very frustrating.

  • I was having that problem, it got so messy that I decided to put my sims in a new save. I've also changed all the percentages to really low in mccc and went for the notifications so I would know how often things are happening. Now I hardly see any sims getting married and pregnant, which suits me since I set my life spans to four times the long length.
I've also started backing up my save just before I make any major changes to the settings, just incase I don't like how it's going I can go back a save without much trouble.
  • It's not just you. They -are- randy little things. Sometimes it seems like marriage doesn't lock them down to a monogamous relationship either. I've still had weird things like a Sim getting a request for a date while she is at the hospital for a few days waiting to have her baby. Stupid doctor sim is a vampire and keeps snacking on the patients.

I think you just have to treat it as a quirk of the game, or lock it down hard like @blueybluesky has suggested above.

I've twiddled around with the marriage settings in the hope that things settle down.
I'm going to change the notification settings.
Hahaha had to laugh at your voracious vampire!

I love the idea of sims being mindless woohoo-freaks who go around woohooing with every sim they can find that's at least a young adult.

I thought that too until I had everyone related to each other lol

  • I noticed that recently too. I wondered if it was related to MCCC as I installed that to fix a bug where one of my sim's relationships was stuck on acquaintance and I hadn't done anything to change the settings.

I noticed when I was looking at the family tree of a Lilith Vatore to find out where the random child she suddenly had in the household had come from. Apparently he came from a very busy father. I gave up trying to untangle the family tree on that one.

I've changed my settings now, and it has calmed down quite a bit.

It's only if they have had a past relationship with someone or are now together/married that kids come along phew
