So I bought University when it came out but my schedule has not let me really sit and play the game. I started a save with a grandmother and her teen grandson who would be the all-star soccer player and A+ student and only got through the first semester. This weekend I sat down and got through two more semesters and next time I play he should be graduating soon. I realize that if you really want your sim to do well, you have basically no time to do anything else except homework and studying. I feel like I'm staring at my screen watching him do homework and study soccer plays every sim day with not too much going on. Maybe I am not dividing his up his time right but barely any time to squeeze in a girlfriend. My goal is for him to be a lawyer. Did you feel you were able to balance four classes, homework, finals, soccer club, and have a social life? Also, I did not like dorm life as much as I thought. He moved back in with his grandmother and her three cats after first semester. Yea, I am enjoying it but it seems like hard work to get your sim to do really well. I think as of now the only way I'll play University again is to purposely have my sim to be a bad student, ditching classes, and flunk out. haha.

I guess the way to be more relaxed is to do less classes. Maybe 2 at a time? I tend to go for 4 at once as I like them to complete uni in only 3 semesters, but yes it is fairly full on.There is a little spare time, especially at the weekend, but mostly its work, eat, sleep. Though, so far, I have wanted my students to get an A+, i guess you could work less if you're not aiming for top grades.

I played with 4 classes once and just didn't like how fast University went by. I do 2 at a time and have no issues balancing my Sims lives now, though I did struggle a bit back when I tried 4.

It goes fast if you want to do 4 classes. I found that it's better to start the term in the middle of the week. Since you need 5 days per term, going Mon-Fri is really hard. Starting any other day will give you one free weekend to catch up on studying, term papers, presentation etc in the middle

If you work on your sim's debate & research skill, they will finish homework and papers faster. Also, the secret society includes motive perks that can help.

Yeah I completely found that! My very first sim I sent to university took 4 classes and had a soccer scholarship, and it was intense! Since then, if I have a sim that I want to have a social life too, then I will do 3 classes a term and just go for longer (although the more I do this, the more it's starting to feel like university is taking too long). I think 4 classes is ok without sports in the evenings, but definitely not with. I also found that homework just takes sooooooo long - so I've found an amazing mod that shortens homework time (so sims still do it, but it frees up so much time! https://scarletsmods.com/2019/11/15/faster-homework-university-edition/ (plus there are 3 different speeds, so you can choose what feels realistic to you :) )

My college Sims do not study unless they miss a class or are late to class. I have them email the professor to find out their progress if I am worried. I found that extra studying does not do anything. They only do the homework, term papers and presentations. I got a mod from Scarlet that speeds up uni homework. My Sims usually get an A+ unless they miss a class and don't study a little extra for that class they missed.

My sim had way too much going on to join a secret society. I'll have to do that next time I play a University Sim. Speaking of which, I don't even know HOW to join a society. how does one do that?

I just got the discover university pack, so now i'm thinking about sending a sim to univeristy. But since there are two different universities i don't know which one to send her to :lol:
Anyone has a list (or personal opinions) on pros and cons for the different universities? Or know where i maybe can read a bit about it. My end goal is to take all the degrees and pass with flying A's anyways so I don't know if it really matters which one i choose :lol:

Well my sim finally graduated and started at level 3 in the law career. Now if he can only find a wife. This seems to be more of a hassle than getting through university. The NPC females walking around are U-G-L-Y!!!

Iknow. Most of the NPC are so weird. Like i feel like the male npc mostly either are very overweight or look kind of super feminine or straight out gay. Can't really say i'm found of the female npc's either, they wasn't really lucky with their looks. But i have come across a few who looks decent. Besides, you can use cheats to change their looks a bit. At least if you marry them. Like clothes and stuff like that. And maybe put some makeup on them. It's amazing what the right makeup could do for their overall looks :lol:
