I have no idea if I read every post in this thread, trying to deal with this site is still a thorn in my side. I haven't logged in here in ages, I see we still can't upload our own avatars. Doubt we ever will be able to, honestly.
I'm glad that so many of you don't seem to have had any problem completing the tasks for this thing. I logged into game today for the first time in about a month and a half because reasons. It seemed to go well at first then I ran into the bug that according to Answers HQ, lots of folks (300 plus me too"s) have been having: During the first week when you have to wait for the Ambrosia Society newsletter, it comes in the mail but the task never completes. I tried to fix it by pulling my mods folder as someone on Reddit suggested, and now I can't do anything with the quest. I have the little reaper icon thingie in the upper corner, but no quest tasks at all, not even the one I was working on previously. I played for about 2 sim days on my existing save and nothing. Then I tried creating an entire new game save, played for 4 sim hours, and still nothing. So apparently, no goodies for me!
I don't even know why I try anymore with this game.
I actually am going thru a similar phase. After getting rid of the little icon, i didnt even play another day ! It took me three days to find a mod to block the quests, then the icon stayed so i had to do more research and go delete some file in the game's folder. Then, i didnt feel like getting back into it, because i know ima be playing for half an hour (irl time) and encounter a problem which will require days to solve and/or research further more on troubleshooting sites. And another set of updates is coming so 🤞hopefully it wont require days of troubleshooting ...
And on this site, i dont read as much as id like to, want to or need to because of the white screen, so hopefully they wil implement a dark mode ... and our own avatars !
