Regarding Premades Lore Updates

I care about the updated lore in the way that I would rather not have it for existing premades. I suppose they are trying to please the gamechangers that are freaking out about lore all the time. I'd much rather have them spend their ressources elsewhere.

I wonder how far they will go with this update. I hope it will be mainly adding things (relationships, hot and cold weather outfits for base game townies, likes.and dislikes) but not changing them entirely.

There is no way for them to cover the premades in existing saves. Some people deleted them, some turned them into played sims, in some games they died and are now ghosts. I think this will be for new saves.

I am not sure we needed an updated lore. I would rather they give us more options to capture each sim's information and storyline in game.

It will only apply to new saves, if they tried to edit sims in existing saves that would most likely corrupt save files. Any changes you've made to sims in your save will still be there but if you make a new save they'll have the updated lore and appearances from the sims team

All of my premades are deleted so I wonder too?

I'd love for them to stop being so cryptic and actually tell us what they are doing to avoid all this speculation. Speculation during upcoming pack releases can be fun, but this is different.

Also, I start new saves to play specific families sometimes, so that doesn't make me feel any better. I'm really dreading this, if I'm honest. :lol:

Why not just add the new pre-mades to the library and let us choose to replace them if we wish?

I know some players are looking forward to the NPC updates, and no disrespect to them! I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I guess because they want them to have proper relationships and maybe sentiments toward each other.

In general, I don't mind it. I don't think it will affect existing saves, so that's okay, and it would be nice if Pancakes really had bad relationship and Johnny Zest was related to Landgraabs.

Am I the only one who is thinking to myself, it's been 7 years and you're just now doing this? We've gone this far dealing with there not being any and making up our own and now you want to change it? Isn't this something that should have been added from the very beginning?

Is it really going to make a difference? I mean, the sims are still going to act exactly the same regardless if there's some little blurb about a backstory, right? And, we all know traits don't effect much so updating or changing them is kind of redundant. And likes and dislikes, the theory sounds good but they also don't really change much (My "Dislikes Video Games" sims still play video games on their phone constantly).

Or am I totally missing something here, maybe I am and someone could explain how this will make the game better and more in-depth.

I personally just feel like it's a waste of time and resources.

The same thing with them updating the NPC's and Townies. It's been 7 years! People have deleted and modified them in their games after this long of time. I personally have never ever, not once, played with any pre-made sim in TS4 or any of the older games (besides just choosing some random pre-made in older games to test a new pack, but since we can't do that in TS4, I've always just used my own). I usually don't delete the pre-mades, they just exist in my game as background filler and I focus on the sims I've made.

But, if this will make some people happy, then I'm all for it, it just won't be any big deal to me and how I play.

Speaking of Pancakes, I wonder if they'll add Iggy to their household.
