I just opened my first store within the past week. I've learned quickly you have to interact with your employees. No matter who you hire, they're not going to have high enough skill to do everything exactly the way you want them to. They won't work as fast. They don't have the necessary work ethic. They might even slack off. Here's what I can suggest that can help:
Please keep in mind your business will struggle, but once your hired Sims get to Level 3 in whatever skill they mainly do it gets a lot easier to turn a profit.
- Check on them once a shift.
- Use the Praise interaction, even if they're slacking off.
- Build the relationship with the Sim. That also can have an effect on them.
- Stay out the hired Sim's way. For example, they can't talk to customers and build their Sales skill if you have your Sim doing all the talking with the customers.
- If you have more than one of your family's Sims on the lot, have each of them do the praising and checking on the employee interactions.
Please keep in mind your business will struggle, but once your hired Sims get to Level 3 in whatever skill they mainly do it gets a lot easier to turn a profit.
