Retrieving deleted holidays?

Ok, I guess I wasn't aware that deleting a holiday (or 6) for one save game deletes them for all save games. I didn't want them all gone and some of them had elements that we seemingly don't have the power to put back in by adding a new holiday with the same name (like the one before new years eve where your sims get free food.) I just had a sim family that doesn't celebrate any holiday so I deleted them...then discovered that every single save file I have is now without any holiday at all!

Is there a way to put them back without deleting my whole documents folder and losing all my stuff?

  • Hello
    This shouldn’t have occurred.
If you have cc/mods in your game, move your whole mods folder to the desktop. Then start the game and see if the issues are still there.
Repairing the game may help. To do that, go to games library in Origin, right click on the sims 4 picture and click repair

Try deleting the cache files and see if that helps

Try starting a fresh new save game and test to see if the holidays appear
  • Deleting holidays only deletes them for the current save game. It shouldn't delete them from your other games. I think you're talking about the surprise pop up holidays like Night on the Town for the free food, or the Lottery, and even if you delete those holidays they will still pop up on the calendar again later.
  • Thank you @rosemow & @Evie0602. Apparently my game got corrupted and an Origin repair brought them all back. I thought it was strange that all of them on every save were gone but I thought maybe somehow they were all connected.

I'm glad they are back now.
