Do your roommates do anything?Mine are so boring. I feel like they just do the bare minimum to "survive". Eating, sleeping, toileting, showering, leaving for a bit, coming back, rinse and repeat. I mean they DO take out the garbage and pay their bills on time... They never read, they never watch television, they never paint, they don't play any instruments, etc. They just "exist". The "craziest" thing they do is throw "parties". But, they don't really talk to anyone, they don't cook food for them, they just do whatever they were doing and ignore the guests.

Yeah they do. In the dorms I had two particular roommates who kept leaving rude notes around, and one of them was a gluttonous jerk who always picked fights and never shower. And recently my sim graduated and moved to the city to pursue her career. She has a two bedroom apt so she got a roommate; her roommate not only has more than one girlfriend, but one of the many girlfriends comes over almost all the time to argue with my sim’s roommate about his bad behavior. ?

I'm starting to play around with more roommates and finding that they do in fact have some personalities! I still haven't been left any notes, though. That sounds interesting!

Are you talking about roommates that come with the dorm? Those are the only ones in my game. But they don't have time to be boring. My B-Lister is at uni with three of his siblings, two brothers and the only sister. The roomies and their friends are all too busy going nuts over Erik whenever he pops into the dorm. LOL He made friends with a particular girl, who was an avid fan. She loves him completely and now they're good buddies. What she didn't count on was his 'friend' from home coming over to the dorm at his behest. He asked Tamela (rhymes with Pamela) to be his girlfriend and the roomie is now completely depressed. Mind you, Erik never once asked the roomie out on a date, to be his girl or anything. He just chatted with her, signed an autograph and in general is just a nice Sim. She was already in love with him, being his biggest fan, as she claimed to be. But when Tamela came for a visit and he planted a good one on Tami's lips, the roomie all but broke into tears. I feel very badly for her, but, in his defense, he made no promises of any sort to her. Nor, did he woohoo with her, because he's not the love 'em and leave 'em type.

You can choose which sim(s) get accepted. The first roommate that I ever encountered was just plain boring. I thought that that was just how the "were". But, I have since kicked that roommate out and gotten a much better one! They do in fact have personalities!

I was actually talking about the roommates that appear when your sim lives in a house/apartment and specifically posts an ad for roommates. You can choose which sim(s) get accepted. I got a mermaid for a roommate. He used to eat everything in the fridge! Like literally every single leftover food and barely ever slept! Now he only sleeps. I’m speaking DAYS IN A ROW! what am i dealing with here? LMAO

Mine only ever stand around playing the violin and breaking things. They don't clean up anything and if they break a shower from overuse they just wander around stinky.

I wonder if they all have their own personalities? I only have one roommate. Maybe I should get another to see if they differ!

@Missmagoo2 the notes are usually little slips of yellow paper left near the bed of a sim. When my sim lived in the Drake dorms these little passive-aggressive notes were being passed out a lot and you had like 24 sim hours to read em before they disappeared. It also gives you the option to confront the very sim leaving the notes. I stopped reading them after a while because they can put your sim in a really bad mood.

I haven't run into roomies leaving notes out yet. Someone else posted a link to the different personality traits that they can have in a semester. There might be more specific terminology for that.

I didn't really notice them during the first semester. In the second, I did notice the tendencies more. Some would fix items, some would bring food or throw parties or have a girlfriend. There was a "clingy social" guy who would follow my sim around but then wasn't actually that friendly. Sometimes there would be random music. I haven't had a crying roommate yet.

That sim lived in Wyman Hall which has a few private rooms, so he got that type of room both semesters. I didn't realize that the other dorms didn't have the option of a small private room. My sim would just close the door on everything and go to sleep.

I slightly overhauled Darkwing and I actually like it without having played it. I might be sending him there with his girlfriend who is finishing high school. I just opted to let him go home for a little bit while I've switched to playing her as she finishes being a teen. I'll try to see if I can send them together in the same semester and household. I can tell that Darkwing could either be turned into a sorority or into a more quasi-residential place. I'm playing it like the latter.

I will say, I like the world but already, I'm wanting more lots. :-) I could do with a few more residential spaces for off-campus apartments in Britechester itself.
