Rotational players - how do you play?

I play each family 1 sim week, sunday-sunday. Makes it easier to remember! I have done a few short day rotations with other families that aren't normally in the rotation though.I also play with aging on active household only, and with npc aging on only during one week of the full rotation.

I don't have a fixed rotation, just play them depending on my mood. But my sims tend to know each others and make friends and they hang out together and invite them out to festivals and trips so they still get played a little

I have a set schedule so they all age the same amount and I can also make sure they don’t skip or repeat seasons. I switch every 2 weeks at 2am Monday. When I am through the rotation and start back with the first family, I use the “advance season” cheat ( seasons.advance_season ) until they’re in the right one (and seasons match the two week play cycle).

Completely randomly, depending on my mood. But I have a huge number of households because I wanted my sims to have big families and good romantic options and suitable friends/classmates/coworkers/neighbors/etc. So, like crocobaura, I tend to interact quite a bit with other households even when they are not actively in play.

I play with aging off, though, which gives me a lot of flexibility to just play the type of household I'm in the mood to play at any given time, without worrying about progression. Now that we have university and weddings and infants and high school, so the lifestages are a lot more fleshed out, I'm finally ready to start more actively aging up households manually. I've done so sparingly in the past, in hope of getting some of the content we now have.

-1 week per family, starting Friday, 6 p.m.
-aging on only for the active household
-my played households are connected with each other AS I tend to befriend other played Sims rather than premades and other NPCs

I play with aging off and have 1 week seasons. I play each family for a year (4weeks) so they can all enjoy the holidays. I have a chart I use for aging up to keep track of birthdays as I set a specific amount of years for each age group to live before aging up. The year with each family allows time for developing family relationships, friends and jobs before going on to the next.

I play according to my whims. My goal is just to have fun, so I turn aging off and play whichever household I feel like playing. Sometimes I'll favor one household for a while, sometimes I get a new idea for some new Sims and spend a game session or two creating them and finding them the right type of lot on the gallery to live in. I love to interact with my own Sims and have them hook up with each other and breed new Sims, and I tend to populate neighborhoods with themes that I like. (For Example I have an Egyptian neighborhood, old wild West, nomadic "gypsies", Fae, steampunk, Victorian, magical, etc...) I also don't play too realistically so I have many Occult and unusual households.

With so many packs, there's a lot of ideas and options, so I like to explore them when the mood strikes. ?

I don't normally play defined rounds, but progress seasons and age my sims whenever I feel ready. Holidays get added to the calendar two days prior to the event and then deleted.

In the rare saves where I adhere to rounds every household gets seven days per season (I prolong seasons with MCCC). Rabbit hole career families and university students get played the full seven days in succession, as to not mess up their schedule. Everyone else just gets their days crossed off on scratch paper.

I'm a bit new to rotational play myself but I start in one world and play all of the households in that world in a particular order, then go to the next world and do the same thing, then so on. Always in the same order. This way I feel like I give all of my households a similar amount of attention and catch up on their needs before anything bad happens. I play with aging off for all households.
