Running a restaurant!! Arghhh!
Wow! I've just bought a restaurant for my sim to run, and planned to expand so she'd own a restaurant in every world. But wow, owning a restaurant is hard!! I spent ages building one and furnishing it, and then when I went to create a sim to plan my employees outfits, I came out and the lot had been completely bulldozed, menus deleted. And then it wouldn't let me place the shell I had saved because apparently it wasn't the correct lot type (I'll accept maybe I didn't label it as a restaurant, although I was building it on a restaurant lot so who knows?!) So, I had to sell the business so I could place the shell of the lot I built, and re-buy it. Ok, good to go I thought...
I knew I couldn't play as a chef, or host, or waiter (even though it would be awesome if we could!!) So I hired my employees, all YA so there's time to build all their skills - I'd thought about it, planned it, put everything in place I needed to. Fantastic! My restaurant is now open. But, hang on a minute, it's stormy outside. So just as my customers are arriving, and my host is seating them, and my sim is greeting them, my waiter takes all his clothes off and starts running down the road naked (I'm assuming because he's enjoying the rain so much!) When he comes back, he's very concerned with mopping up all the puddles outside (of which there are many - it's raining a lot!), but not very concerned with taking orders or taking food to the customers - what are you doing waiter sim?? My sim would love to help out with taking orders or taking food to customers, but she's not allowed :'( At long last, all outside puddles have been deleted (reduced significantly by me deleting one of the doors so he cant get to the puddles in the back), and so he's finally ready to take some food to my very angry customers who have been waiting ages! Excellent I hear my sim cry, we're nearly there - oh no, wait, my waiter is excited by the rain again and off he goes for another naked run around the neighbourhood :s
What?? How?? Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!?? do people manage to run restaurants that actually serve sims food, without their heads exploding? Am I missing something? I've spent ages growing my sim to be a restaurant owner, she's finally a YA, and now I'm not sure I can get past day 1 before I give up and join my waiter screaming through the neighbourhood (albeit with my clothes firmly ON!) :p
