Seasons harvestable quantity question

So, I realize that I'm on day 13 of a 14 day season and my in season plants still don't have 10 harvestable on them. These are plants that were planted and tended to before their in season. I did start playing seasons with a new sim with no skills. I want to play with the seasons and how it relates to gardening for a while before I build a greenhouse.

I guess my question is, can growth rate be effected? Can higher skill level make a difference? (I do know that some plants have more than one "in season".)

  • I'm not sure anymore, I know before Seasons, it didn't matter on the skill level of the sim who was doing the gardening.

I have noticed the quantity issue as well. Some plants get to 4 and stop, others up to 6, but I can’t recall any yields higher than that.

Yeah, wasn't sure if anyone has played season's enough yet to get a better idea of how it works now. I kind of found it odd because if I had been playing a 7 day season I probably would have only gotten 4 harvestable on the plant.

My bananas had 8 eight. I thought it was taking a long time but I was going to wait till they got to 10 but they never did. Tulips seem stuck at 3 ( indoors), guess I'll just harvest them. I have a range but I don't know what they all should be to be considered a full "crop". It actually seems like some might not get any with a 7 day season.
  • I've had the same problem. My Blackberries made it to 8 harvestables. But nothing else even came close. I've been playing with the 7 day seasons as well. Also on another note after planting the seed I've never had to water them, even on the days it wasn't raining.

yeah, the new max seems to be determined by the plant. like my orchid only grows two flowers, snapdragon seems to grow 3-4, daisies get 6. as others have said, haven't seen higher than 6 (though my plantain tree is still growing)

and this is in a household where all 5 members had max gardening before the patch, and perfect versions of all the harvestables in storage. so they just regrew the plants they didn't already have access to. there also seems to be an issue with splicing currently (as in, the new harvestable won't show. splicing sage with basil will have sage and basil grow, but parsley doesn't show like it should)

So I guess just harvest every day and not worry about it?

I found out about the splicing after splicing two plants but went ahead and did another anyway for the achievement.
  • My Sims have maxed gardening skills and some plants (UFO) just stop after getting one bulb. I waited a Sim week... still one bulb. It used to be full (like 8?) in 3 days.

There's definitely something going on there. It was in Season and my seasons are 4 weeks, so...
  • I've just been planting tons of the same thing. It takes up so much room though. It's kinda cool if you want a huge farm looking lot but not so much if you want to economize your space.
  • My prices are down on most stuff except the dragonfruit which sold for over 1000 $. Had to be a glitch with that.
