Seasons: Raining too much

For the most part I'm really loving Seasons, but I'm really getting tired of it raining ALL the time. I feel like my sims can never enjoy the outdoors anymore because it's raining or there are thunderstorms so often. What's bugging me the most is when summer finally does roll around, it's still raining and there are still thunderstorms. I want to use my pool and have the kids run around outside in the summer... Has anyone else noticed this and are bothered?

  • I love it and find it a pleasant change and makes the game more challenging. The best part is you can turn rain off for a while, and turn it back on when you want

Which world do you play in? I play in Windenburg and the weather is pretty balanced there. It rained once in the summer and a couple of times in spring and autumn. Only two-three thunderstorms throughout the whole year. I play with 14 day season length.

Right now, I'm in Brindleton Bay. I'm going to try the weather machine and see if that helps. I don't hate the rain and thunderstorms. I actually love them, just not in summer. I'm from California, so this is not realistic weather to me, lol.

And anything in the Sims is? lol

Yes, actually. To an extent. Many of the basic parts of the sims are based on reality. It is a simulated life experience, but yes many aspects are unrealistic as well. My point was that with weather I guess I had certain expectations. For winter I know I'm getting snow, blizzards, chilly days. For summer I expect good weather, if not hot weather. A cool day here and there, maybe one rainy day. That's not what I was getting though. There were rain and thunderstorms throughout the entire summer. My sims could hardly do any outdoor activities the entire seasonal year. So yes, I expect something a little more realistic.

I do love the rain and thunderstorms as well, just not in the summer. I want my sims to be able to do summer activities in the summer and have to deal with the struggles of summer like heat waves and trying to cool down. Instead my sims were dealing with cold weather problems in the summer...

The weather machine is your answer. With the appropriate upgrades you can adjust the frequency of desired weather by season. So, for example, it will still rain, but not nearly as often. Or it will rain a lot more, but not every day. Or it will snow a lot. You also don't need to leave it on the lot. use it and then drop it back into the household inventory. The weather will be set for that world for the season.

I use that, you can always stick it under the house and pull it out when you need it.

I've started using it and it has tailored my game more to my liking.
