I have my teen sims go to the gym quite often, since they tend to age up into quite chubby figures. I'm wondering--- is weight genetic in the Sims 4??? I guess it would make sense, but the thing is, my teens' parents are pretty fit too. ?
On another note, another way to lose the weight is the Slim potion in the rewards store. Except it's not as fun when you don't work for it, and you don't get to experience how quickly you can become friends with gym trainers when you're being mentored. Like some of my sims' best friends are all gym trainers ?
The weight itself isn't genetic, but certain body parts are. For example, when you give a male sim a big belly in cas, the child might get the same. But this doesn't have to do with the actual weight of the sim, the game handles it the same as eye shape, for example. Thus, a sim whose dad has a big belly and the mom big hips, the child may inherit these traits and look bigger when they age up, despite their weight being normal. However, sometimes sims just gain weight during their childhood and it only becomes really noticable when they age up to teen. It isn't easy to avoid that, since children have lesser option for losing weight than teens and older. If you have Cool Kitchen stuff, you could use the ice cream maker to make some diet ice cream which lets sims lose weight immediately after they ate it. I prefer it over the insta lean potion because the latter often makes sims too thin for my taste. The ice cream makes them lose a noticable amount of weight, but they don't end up stick-thin like with the potion. And in case they aren't thin enough after eating the ice cream, they can still take another portion of it.
