Share Your Approach/Strategy for the Romance Scenario
I gave the Romance scenario a go and enjoyed it, setting in place a process for playing it. I am sure there are many ways to attempt this scenario. I don't see this scenario as a challenge to ...
I have to admit here that despite trying for depth and immersion with this scenario, I did go through it faster than I had planned, because my other sims are more interesting to me at the moment and I wanted to get back to them. I would have liked to have spent more time with the new friends and love interests, and perhaps played around with some drama.
This scenario was more of a break from my main sims. More like a distraction.
Phase 1: Total Avoidance
Un uh, nope, this is not working. We are just digging that hole deeper.
Hello Cassandra Goth. Joel jumps into the deep end of the new people pool.
"Strange. What have you been up to?" Turn and face the strange- cha cha changes, Rain.
Rain turns and dives into that Wellness aspiration.
But she can find other sims too.
I did probes every once in while to see if I could crack that ice wall.
Nope.
How about with a friend?
Nope!
Well, just invite people over.
Joel's and Rain's work schedule were perfect for this scenario. There were major blocks of time where one was at work and the other was home alone. Perfect for visits.
She really needs a hug.
"Hey, I am the violin you should be playing!"
Joel was meeting sims right and left and center.
Most of YAs are at the University stage and can be best met on campus and at the dorms.
Dormies and their food obsession.
Might as well do some research on Charisma while he is here.
Meadow Thayer, hmm... interesting.
Rain met this guy at the Uni dorm and decide to ask him out to the gym. He used to be fit and trim when he started, but that dorm food got to him. And here at the Gym/Spa he was all: "You go do what you do. I will be at the snack bar."
So much for him. She did her workout and got a massage.
Phase 2: Friendship
This little incident got me to thinking about renewing their friendship. Dude, she saved your life!
However, that Great Story Teller trait was letting him crack that ice wall.
And we dragged Nancy Landgraab out of the spa so she could restock her University store, full of cool inventory items he can give as gifts.
Nice.
They can hold a conversation now.
More gifts!
Phase 3: Romance
I really should have delved deeper into the other love interests, but my other sims were calling me. So I pushed to wrap this up.
Having them have stroll was so nice.
Actually enjoying a conversation with each other.
Yes, this is indeed nice, but I can also see them bonding over the trials and tribulations of an adventure in Selvadorada, or relaxing in paradise at Sulani.
They visited the Karaoke bar next.
Joel used that Beguiling trait.
And proceeded to chop down that negative red romance bar like a dead tree.
"Rawwwrrr."
The only red left is hearts.
But they are mainly friends now, so no romancing that night. Today they are going to enjoy more of Komorebi.
Rain is a lazy sim and walks everywhere instead of runs.
But when night fell, it was time to turn up the heat with a romantic dinner.
I believe they had Sakura Tea.
Whatever it was, it had them glowing.
"I'm taking a shower."
Gotta talk to the property owner about getting a double bed in here.
Phase 4: End Game
I had to get those two out of Komorebi fast before they triggered the end game.
