Share your occult storylines!

I'm just starting an occult storyline since the release of Werewolves. My main couple have been Spellcasters since ROM but that was never a central focus in my gameplay. They have 3 adult daughters and I've moved two of them to Moonwood Mills. One will become a vampire and the other will become a Werewolf. Once they've completed their aspirations I'll move them back into the family home. It still won't be an occult storyline but should be fun.

Reader’s Digest version of my original backstory is that Morgyn Ember is not just a spellcaster, he’s the last of a race known as The Arcane or The Ancients. After a war that nearly wiped them out, they built a portal into the human world in order to preserve the magic and found magic sensitive humans to impart magic to, thus creating Spellcasters. Humans became afraid of the magic, which emanated from The Realm and imbued other beings with magic, as well. They hunted down the Spellcasters and finished wiping The Arcane out, with the exception of one child, Morgyn. Spellcasters and other magic beings went underground for safety and to preserve the magic.

Morgyn was secretly raised by nomadic humans until his powers manifested, then he went to Mooncrest for initial training, then to The Magic Realm, where he became Sage of Untamed Magic. That’s where my first game started.

I've had a running Occult storyline for a while. Mostly, it's been backstory around my sim Gwen, who is a Spellcaster, inspired by the brief write-up of Glimmerbook Watch. I thought, what if the last residents of Glimmerbrook Watch didn't just disappear? What if something far more sinister happened?

Gwen's mother and grandmother, the witches of Glimmerbrook Watch, were killed by Vladislaus Straud (he's such a great villain) and she was raised by her mortal father in Willow Creek.

Lately, I've been encouraged by posting my story here on the forums. Vlad has tried to kill now-grown Gwen and her wife Cassandra Goth. Miranda (Cassie's daughter by Don Lothario) has run off/been sent to Moonwood Mill and is becoming a friend and ally of the Moonwood Collective. Meanwhile, now grown Alexander Goth has, clueless to all this Occult stuff, started an affair with Lilith Vatore.

Eventually I envision a feud with Gwen and her allies (the Goths, hopefully the Collective and maybe the Vatores and the Charms) vs Vlad, his allies (mostly other vampires, plus the Landgraabs, the now-adult Renegades and maybe some evil spellcasters and werewolves).

Well, Vlad did break into my Sims home once and ruin the entire 3 hours of play. Had to close w/o saving and go back to when I started playing - 3 hours prior to his home invasion.

Mine is nebulous for now because it will be a while before I actually get to try it.

It will involve Spellcasters, Werewolves, and Vampires.
I will probably rotate between their various points of view.

Spellcasters.
I've already have given my Hogwarts in Henford lot a test run and I plan to play it for real someday.
It will be full of Harry Potter characters, but no Voldemort. In my scenario, he died when he tried to kill Harry as a baby.
The reason why I am doing that is because I already know how that story ends and I want to play something different.
So I need new threats to the world. That's where vampires and werewolves come in.

Vampires.
I want to play a Vampire version of rags to riches,
probably a sim turned by Vlad, that goes on to build a vampire empire. She searches all the cities and towns for the most beautiful and interesting sims with very useful traits and abilities and makes them her familiars. They do all the work she can't and they build great wealth to build a fantastic mansion. She rewards her first familiars by turning them into vamps and they go off to start their own houses with the money she has gifted them. I will probably play this while I build my Hogwarts, as it is a big project, but one of these houses will move to Henford.

Werewolves.
I don't have this pack yet, but I will probably have Wild Fangs see Henford as a great hunting ground and they are often there to attack chickens and any villagers that are causing them problems.

When I play my spellcasters, they will attack any vampires and werewolves they see in their world with magic.
When my vampires and werewolves become very numerous, I will probably have my spellcasters start a purge war and turn every vampire and werewolf they know of human again.

I usually play a lot of occults, but I like to mix them with humans. My usual stories involved one occult and one human trying to understand each other and discovering each other’s secrets. At the end they will end up together, for example ordinary girl that I raised from toddlerhood with an evil vampire lord ?. For a thrill occult will usually have some terrible traits like evil, mean and jealous, to spice things up I may even give them parenthood one like uncontrolled emotions. Then I will race with them when they are trying to be mean so human sim will not get festering grudge sentiment, it’s fun.

That was before werewolves and now I only play with them, because pack is still very fresh. My current house has two sims both wolves. The girl is an ambassador of peace, trying to control herself and although she is with Volkov’s pack she is trying to maintain friendship with the other group. She was considering curing herself, but since she became apex her ability to stop fury grew exceptionally. So now she thinks maybe it’s better to remain werewolf because her guy is one as well.

Her partner is another story. He has all the abilities to scare people and doesn’t care about others. He is in the middle of war with Vlad and other vampires, but the news that he had beaten Vlad to a pulp must have reach more worlds, because Caleb ran from him when he attempted to fight. The girl also hates vampires, but not to the point of actively fighting them. In my story they are almost like leaders of werewolves, he does the dirty work and she is more diplomatic. They are fated mates, have whole bunch of sentiments my favorite being about opposite attraction and despite the guy being mean he is actually super cute to her. Except for fighting for werewolves cause, they also have adventures in Selvadorada discovering another bunch of artifacts, are addicted to bowling and both hate staying indoors and sleep at the top of howling point in Moonwood. At some point they will start a family, but now they have many other fun things to experience… ?

I have many stories going on at the same time, many of which are part of a larger story, but none currently focus solely on occult matters. Probably the one closest to an occult-type theme right now is a rivalry of sorts between certain vampires and their allies, many of which are spellcasters and non-occult sims. I can't share details on the forums because of some of the themes in the ongoing tale, but the gist of it involves attempts at corporate espionage and other power plays between two main criminal organizations in one of my primary saves. They often fight dirty to try and achieve their goals, so... yeah, can't give details on that. :grimace:

I have one household where I am playing a werewolf couple, but they didn't start out that way, or at least one of them didn't. She really had no intention of him becoming a wolf because one wolf in the home is more than enough. Eventually, she asked him to move in with her, and sometime later he decided to head out collecting frogs. While doing so he ended up trespassing on Greg's land. Sensing danger she tried to get him away, only to be attacked by Greg. This left her badly beaten up, and him catching the Werewolf virus.

It didn't take him very long to transfer into a wolf, because the attack happened on the same day as the full moon.

At the moment I don't really have a storyline to my occult save. It started as a save solely for testing, but I created that the moment I went into the pack for the first time. Since then it has taken on a life of it's own though there is no official story with it, yet. I have a werewolf family to follow in Moonwood Mill with the most adorable toddler wolfie. There's Rory, who's really captured my imagination. And last but certainly by no means least, there is werewolf Judith Ward. Oh the havoc she will create is going to be epic. She's a territorial, emotion bomb, with anger issues, a voracious appetite, and a certain...shall we say casual indifference towards appropriate bladder control. She alone may be worth the price of admission.

In my game, Brindleton Bay is a world where all occults live together. Windenburg is primarily a witch world, orcs camp in Oasis Springs and Glimmerbrook, vampires have Forgotten Hollow, mermaids rule Sulani, and werewolves live in Moonwood Mills. It's taken centuries and there is still a lot of unease, but the races have learned to live together.

I try to give each occult a unique culture. So witches have their own church and weekly rituals. Orcs have isolationist views and their spellcasters are more likely to study potions. Vampires have covens in each world, while the heads stay in Forgotten Hollow. Werewolves have make-shift packs with their own values; the Brindleton pack lives off the grid. The Sulani mermaids keep their existence hidden from normal sims and focus on keeping Sulani safe.

I have a witch school in Windenburg, where students need to learn 3 spells in each category to graduate. But the school will be opening up to other occults soon. The school is on the island, along with a haunted house for the kids to visit, and an arena for sims to battle.
