Sim prisoners - tips needed to prevent escape

I decided that the best way to keep my vampire happily and easily fed is to kidnap some sims and keep them prisoner in the basement. Don't worry, it's a nice basement.

The only door to the upstairs is locked to all but household members. This works most of the time. It takes a bit of effort to get the prisoners down there, but once they are there, they stay put.

Except, it seems, when there is a travel trip off the lot, or when the game is newly loaded. In these cases, when my lot is loaded again the prisoners are either completely gone (in the instance of travel) or leaving (in the instance of loading).

As you can see above, one of the prisoners is going up the stairs - she never should have been able to use that door! It is for household members only. Any ideas on how to keep the prisoners down there? It's a pain to get new ones in there, although I have some ideas for making it easier.

I just trapped them upstairs so they would have to come back down when I noticed them escaping. I removed the door at the bottom completely and was going to put it back after they came downstairs. Unfortunately, while one prisoner walked through the opening in the wall where the door was, the other walked straight through the wall! Do doors/walls even matter, or can the prisoners occasionally just walk right through them?

Thanks for any tips! My vampire appreciates them.

  • I really wish to know this too. I have plans in the future for one of my Sims to go to prison but I really don't want to see his orangy 'hind waltsing through the streets in the meantime.
  • I am sitting here laughing because we do things with sims that would have us locked away for a very long time. And people ask me how i can play this game for hours and days on end. I love this post.
  • I agree @kimieswildroses :).
I can't really keep captives in either. Either I plan to not the leave the area that they are in or I group them and make them all go back inside when my sims leave. It's not that hard. You can even make a bread and water club or whatever other name you want to give it... silly prisoners will come right back like lambs to the slaughter.
  • I sometimes watch a youtuber who is playing a serial killer and he keeps some sims in the basement so they can paint and get some money with it. He always adds his prisoners to the household so they don't run away. I think that's the best solution for this.
  • When I play my serial killer, I have to trap them and 'deal with' them without ever leaving the lot. I don't know how one would keep them trapped long term.
  • I just moved the prisoners in via household manager. He was paid to torture and kill these sims with the money it added when adding a new member. Then I just locked them away in the dungeon and had my fun.
