Kids, this is why you never put your pets in the Pet Semetary.
Here's a cool thread posting detailed pictures of small animals in TS2: http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/441095/some-sims-2-pictures-of-the-small-pets-and-giant-aquarium
I think it's very clear that TS4 has the worst level of detail for small critters...I'm holding out hope that it will improve to become the best in a pets expansion.
The small animals looked really nice in TS2&3. I don't get why they didn't even try this time around.
everything is too hard for them now:/"agent_bev;13371775" wrote:
I hated TS3's pudding faces but you there's absolutely nothing you can say about the level of detail that went in that game. I'm not talking about art style, I mean the detail... here's a screenshot I took a couple of days ago:

and a link if you want to look at it in greater detail: http://i.imgur.com/CUnFShY.jpg
Here is the TS4 version:

A close up of Them both, clearly sims 4 is superior in every way -_-
edit: recently I'm unable to post anything that still has the photobucket link :/- Scobren11 years agoLegendOk here are my Sims 4 details. It's amazing how just adding CC can change the look of the Sim. This is a default girl that I didn't alter the features at all. Just has the CC overlay. There is no way I can get ombre hair color without a CAST, creating CC myself, or having someone else create CC. First picture is during the day and yes it looks that dark in the game sadly. So yes it's possible to make more realistic Sims with the help of CCs.

if you just learn how to use sliders and get some nice cc look how beautiful you can make your ts3 sims look
can't do this with ts4
I don't like that sim at all to be honest. What happened to her nose...? And my mouth looks like that when I've been ice skating for six hours.
Sims in 3 can look totally allright without cc, not pudding face to say the least. The rest is preference.
What I don't get is how people keep calling sims in 3 pudding face, when it's the sims in 4 that all look similar and have very dull skins.- I don't see the point of this thread, bashing graphics because it's a different style is stupid. Sims 4 is more cartoony, this can be a good or bad thing depending on the person. I personally prefer the cartoony look, but I can also see why people prefered The Sims 3 look. The Sims 3 can look pretty if done right, the Sims 4 can also look pretty if done right. The Sims 4 can look ugly if done wrong, the Sims 3 can also look ugly if done wrong.
Both styles have their pros and cons, but one isn't better than the other.
You guys are basically comparing apples to oranges. They are just very different styles, one is realistic, the other is cartoony. - Bettyboop5511 years agoSeasoned AceThe TS4 sims look so cute when in CAS (apart from the hair) but once in game....... a real shame.
There is nothing which can be done about the cartoon graphics so we are stuck with Noddy does Toytown. Nothing wrong with that if you like that kind of art style and a lot do. For the rest of us there are some very good CC makers out there, so plastic helmet of hair and frumpy clothes need not be seen in your game :) "Bettyboop55;13372016" wrote:

I agree with you. The only problem with that though is that one the CC is in the game for Sims 4 it does look REALLY out of place with the rest of the world. Like the CC sims just look too different from the world around them and it makes for some really awkward looking screenshots and an overall experience. It's like where ever you look, no matter what, your CC sims just don't belong in the world.
It really wasn't like that in Sims 3 though, because whether you had CC or didn't have CC for the most part they meshed really well together."SadieD123;13372040" wrote:

It depends on the style of the cc you use...- Scobren11 years agoLegend

That is true. Elsa would probably look better in the world. Only thing is no snow unless it's added with CC.

Yeah, play-doh hair wallpaper backgrounds, plastic eyes, wacky animations ....
That's exactly why custom content works for many of us. If you don't like what Maxis made, start looking at how very talented and creative our community is here in Sims world. Honestly, if I had to play any of the sims games out of the box, I would have quit long, long ago.
Here are two sims I'm playing now. They are so cute and look exactly like I like to play them. No one has to play what Maxis makes...EVER!
