Sims 4 Sims wont pick up garbage or clean up

I had that happen on one lot today. They just kept piling up dishes and dropping trash bags on the floor even though they have a trashcan outdoors. It was only one lot. Others were fine. It was very frustrating. I finally exited the game.

I've had a problem with the sims cleaning up dishes. When I click on clean up they take the dishes to the sink then they return them to where they picked them up. I have to manually drag them to the sink to clean them up. At first, I thought that it was because my sim had the clumsy trait but then it happened with everyone in the family. I haven't tried it on other lots. I haven't had a problem with the trash yet. This only started today. Hopefully, we'll find a solution as I'm going to get tired of clicking and dragging.

Do you have mods or CC. If you do remove the mod folder from your game and clean your caches until mods and CC is updated.

How do you clear the game cache? I did know but I've forgotten.

I don't use mods or CC but in the past you had to clean the local thumbnail Cache. You might want to get an answer from someone else that uses mods and CC in Sims 4 to be sure it is the same. I just know you need to do that by removing the folder in past sims games. The other games would them replace the folder with a blank one. But do check with others first for Sims 4.

I always empty the cache folder (usually tons pics in here from the gallery)
go into the cachestr folder and delete the spotlight file
I delete the onlinethumbnailcache folder completely
then further below (not a folder) I delete the localthumbpackage file

I am sure someone will be more knowledgeable on this subject than me but this is what I have remembered to do and have not had any issues so far :)

Thanks. :) I'll go a google search to make sure I don't delete anything I shouldn't.
