Sims are making evil/mischief interactions randomly

I recently noticed that my Sims are making some evil or mischief interactions (like telling fake news or insulting), even if they don't have evil traits or mischief skill, and these are really annoying me because they lose 15 friendship points everytime these actions happen. The only solution for now is disabling autonomy. Is someone also having this issue?

  • I made a post in Answers HQ, if you're also having this issue, please click on "Me Too".

Actually it may not be NAP, I don't have Eco Lifestyle yet and my sims are CONSTANTLY giving each other fake bad news. I thought it was a mod doing this but if you're having the same problem it may be a glitch.

I was thinking it was because of the expansion, but with you telling that you have the same issue, it's a game bug

Out of curiosity, I have this weird glitch where my sims can't finish a movie. Does this happen to you, or would you chalk it up to a mod?

Unfortunately, the neverending movie thing is a known bug, here is the thread on it, if you want to " me too" it.

My recently married Sims went to different universities, and suddenly I noticed that there was an autonimous thing where their relationship dropped a lot going on. Turns out DU had some new interaction " taunt about going to britechester" that was causing it, luckily I have a mod that stopped that. I mean I'd really prefer my newlyweds don't fight each other about thier educations EA, seriously.

Could you send me that mod, please? I had that same thing when my couple was studying in different universities.

It's actually just MCCC, Master Command, it has the option to disable any autonimous action, like drinking water all the time, trolling the forums, etc.
  • Besides the Master Command mod, is there anything else that disables ALL autonomous actions for selected sims? I don't want my sim to randomly make terrible jokes during conversations. I'll decide when he makes jokes. Not the game. Thank you.

You can disable autonomy in the game options for the current selected sim and/or for all sims.
  • I had this exact issue. I had to go through and do quite a fix because it wasn't a bug perse but residue from previous naps. It was destroying my game because they were mega mischief and mean to each other

I removed all mods and cc to desk top
    Deleted the cache
    Did a repair
Restarted the game with mods and cc out
    Repealed every.single.nap.in.every.world
Deleted every npc sim from manage households (you know the background sims not like.. the Goths etc) because they were "infected" by the naps and would cause mischief etc
Disabled NAPS fully in game options
    Saved
    Exit
    Restarted
Dropped my sims mischief levels to 1 if they were over level 3. Most weren't above 2 so this was quick
    Save
    Exit
Place mods and cc back in
    Restart
    New npcs filtered

    The problem went away

Process took about half an hour
Maybe that'll help. Goodluck! It drove me insane

This does not disable things like "make joke", "hold hands" or "insult" during conversations.
I have "disable autonomy for selected sim" turned on.
  • I can't edit my post it seems. Let me explain it very clearly.
During CONVERSATIONS, my sim automatically makes jokes, insults, hold hands and the like.
    Autonomy is turned OFF.

It seems the autonomy settings ignores these interactions.
The only thing I want my selected sim to do during conversations, is talking. I want to decide on my own when my sim makes a joke etc.

Ah, I see. Not much you can do there, but play the whack-a-mole minigame with the interaction queue. Mood control can help to some extent. Focused sims don't tend to always autonomously tell a joke very often, for example.
