I don't have mods or CC. Haven't played this game in forever. My Sims are not managing their needs properly, but it is most noticeable with sleeping. Instead of going to sleep under the blankets, they are choosing to nap on top, which doesn't fill the need very fast. They're also doing stupid things like eating spoiled food (dorms). Is this normal?This is a new game with new Sims I just created over the past week or so. Around 10 families.

Well that's disappointing to hear. And I'm already so put off by my Sims constantly going to the bathroom to wash dishes. Bah!

Do you auto-solve sleep? If the need bar isn’t far enough down, they’ve always opted to nap instead of sleep when I click auto-solve.

This is happening even when you dont click auto solve. I've noticed it too.

I ran into the same issue and solved it thusly: with a Sim selected, hover your pointer over the bed you want for that Sim. You will see new menu items. Choose "assign to" or "assign left side/right side to" if it's a double bed. Sims now need beds assigned to them, and thenceforth will sleep in them. :)

The napping thing is normal in my game and has been that way for a long time now. Not for my own Sims as I play with autonomy off, but NPC Sims that I invite over and such.

In the dorms it's much more dramatic, since there are so many more NPCs around. They nap all over the place; mostly everywhere but their own bed.

As for eating spoiled food, that's a known bug. At least I hope it's a bug and not intentional. ?

The eating of spoiled food has been going on since the Island Living patch. It's disappointing that it hasn't been fixed yet. Luckily LittleMsSam has a fix for it in her bug fixes. The napping instead of sleeping has always been a thing but has become much worse since the last big patch that arrived just before discover university. My sims are choosing to nap even when their energy is really low and it's late at night. I can understand napping during the day but not at night time.

That doesn't solve it. I have always assigned my sims to their beds and they are still just napping on top of the covers when they should be sleeping (it's night and their need bar is red). This is happening in houses, apartments, and dorms. It's not isolated to particular sims. It's everyone.
