People are probably more shocked by the skinny sim or only talking about the skinny sim because over weight people get enough hate as it is. It is much more accepted to be skinny than it is to be overweight. My friend has a medical condition that makes it very hard for her to lose weight, she exercises and eats probably more healthy than some "skinny" people and it is just offensive for people to just assume that it is because of "mcdonalds" or that all overweight people use wheelchairs. Obviously it is not healthy to be too overweight or too skinny but I am so tired of people judging other people. People with eating disorders (whether it be they eat too much or they eat too little) already hate themselves enough and don't need it, you have no idea what goes through their minds.

Wow the girl looks SO much better big than anorexic. Im gonna make a big sim girl, shes actually so pretty and the skinny girl is actually so ugly..

In those pictures, the big one doesn't really look that bad. Sure they're medically overweight but not drastically so. They still have curves and no rolls or anything. They don't look gross at all. Whereas the skinny ones are very skinny and don't look remotely good at all. I feel that if the thin ones can be as thin as that than there should have been more options with the big ones. We should've been able to make them bigger.
This is the sims afterall, not real life.

Note: I don't mean to body shame any body type, I'm talking about the sims not real people, and I apologize if my comment hurts anyone.

I'm glad to see a variety of body types available, and that the large Sims look better than they did in TS3. As a large woman, I feel like I finally will have the opportunity to make a self-sim that really looks like me.

I don't think anyone meant any offense. The topic is about making Sims of different body types, it's kinda hard to not come across as rude. But it's a game, is it necessary to be PC about game characters?
I always make my Sims thin or in the middle, I don't like the way they look fatter. But that doesn't mean I have anything against people who are considered "overweight". I am overweight myself and wouldn't consider myself the paragon of beauty. I just like my Sims to have a certain look.

Well, honestly theres as much skinny hate as fat hate in this world. I've been told all my life "You should eat more" and honestly anyone who truly knows me knows i eat a crap ton of food, i just have a very fast metabolism. (No jokes, if i eat something bad it wont even be an hour and i'm already creating a cauldron on the throne).

But in my experience i have stood up more for large people, and never had anyone stand up for me. I'm a small woman, im short and skinny, so its called PETITE.

But my point to those sims, the fat simmies, look proportionate. While the thin simmies don't. Thats my issue with them, theres many thin people thats as thin as those sims, and they look proportionate and have curves.

As another poster said, I don't think anybody means to cause offence. We're talking about sims after all, not real people and IMO they may represent humans but they're totally different in a lot of ways and none of us mean to direct these comments to actual people (at least I hope not :p).

I for one am sorry if any of my comments have come across as horrible, it certainly wasn't my intention :) I didn't realise people would take comments about sims to heart but I guess it can be a touchy subject.

I'm really skinny too and some of these comments are pretty offensive.

Edit: and no I don't have an eating disorder, it's just that I have a fast metabolism! Have you ever had or met a person who eats a lot but is still skinny? That's how it is with me.

I can't see the pictures either. Bummer. I was really hoping to see some differently sized Sims in this thread.

My size experience has been a little different. I was reasonably slender throughout high school but still taunted for being fat because I was not super thin like most of the cheerleaders. It affected my self-esteem as I was getting the same message at home. So, I started overeating when I got depressed and eventually was a size 5x. About 10 years ago I started eating healthier again and exercising more often and now I wear a small to medium. So, I know what it's like to be berated because of your size. It doesn't matter if you're skinny or fat or somewhere in between. It hurts.

That's why it's very important to me in my Sims game that there are Sims of all sizes. I love that my Sims don't judge each other based on size or color or sexual persuasion. If only the real world were more like that.
