Snow in DSV Really? but not Oasis Springs?

How often does it snow in southern California, not very often, so that is right on for the climate as far as mystery weather. But one major problem Del Sol Valley is considered a Desert! Yes Desert! Without all the population it would be just a few trees and sand and wild crab grass. I seen a picture someone posted of snow in DSV if its true and no one moded it. However I didn't care if DSV got snow or not, but I really wanted to see Oasis Spring covered with snow, but I guess apparently, its not meant to be, because the majority of Deserts don't get snow, so I can't play in a snowy Desert. Also I really don't get the Sunsnow in Oasis Springs the weather machine says the climates been switched and the type of weather has been switched, but snow don't stick in Oasis Springs, Devs, just tell me the truth is there a snow layer in Oasis Springs? Maybe sand looks stupid under snow. who knows. I bet Mean mountain is keeping snow from falling in Oasis Springs.

  • The snow doesn’t stick in DSV....just like it doesn’t in Oasis Springs.
  • except if you use the weather machine I tried it, its part of DSV mystery weather.

Is it? If it's based off of LA that wouldn't be true. LA has a Mediterranean climate.

The snow does stick to the ground in Del Sol Valley. I sent my sim to Brindleton Bay and then home, and the ground was covered with snow.

The snow shouldn't stick to the ground in Oasis Springs and Selvadorada. I used the cheats to start the blizzard in Selvadorada and only the lots were covered with snow. Outside the lots were not even though interactions to build a snowpal or make a snowangels were there.

That said, Del Sol Valley does lack the snow melting animation outside the lot as when the spring arrived, only the lots were covered with snow. After some time, the snow melted.
  • I would be perfectly fine if just the lots in Oasis Springs gets snow, that would make me very happy, but I am wondering if its a bug that Oasis Springs doesn't get snow on the lots and DSV does.
  • What happened to moustache guy in your avatar, he was setting the mood.
  • I sent him away he got way to carried away over the no snow in Oasis Springs. Fed him to the Angels if you watch Doctor Who.

Now Back to regular scheduled programing of casual talk about snow or not snow in Oasis Springs or DSV

Edit: Spelling errors are not my fault my dog ran away with the keyboard.
  • I lived in Southern California for 20 years, in 'the valley' area of Los Angeles county. It snowed one time while I lived there...was freaky. Nothing stuck to the ground, of course. Mind you, there are mountains around Los Angeles, and it snows there every winter, only a few hours away from the city proper.

Oasis Springs, on the other hand, I always imagined to be modeled after like Palm Springs, snow there is a real long shot, like a snowball's chance in h*** chance of snow. Could be more modeled after New Mexico or Arizona though. Arizona has 'high desert' and 'low desert' and it snows in the high desert pretty regularly during winter.

Like @Stormkeep said, it may depend on where you live in Southern California if you get snow or not. If you live near the coast, it's not likely going to happen. If it does it will be like how it is on that (?) weather day in the calendar. You'll see it fall, but it won't stick to the ground.

On the other hand, California has high desert in places like Victorville and Hesperia which is considered high desert. It's just north of Cajon Pass and those places will see snow every so often. I've thought of Oasis Springs to be like Palm Springs and I don't remember the last time it snowed out there.
  • I am actually very glad it does not snow (or rather the snow does not stick) in Oasis Springs and wish there were more worlds with mild climates. That being said, I just really wish we could have the option to set the climate for each world ourselves. I am sure there are more players who would like a snowy desert like OP or more worlds with a mild climate like me.
